Rescue Me ID: 15-05-29-00497Newman (male)
I am already neutered, housetrained, and up to date with shots. Newman's Story... Newman is a two year old mixed breed boy who is sure to be a great addition to your family. A $175 donation ($200 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heart worm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites if needed. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as surgeries and dentals. Owner is ill and unable to continue caring for Midnight. Has 1 blue eye and 1 brown eye. He is used to long walks and is excellent on a leash. He is very lovable, rarely barks. Was raised with another dog in the home. Does well in the car. Very sweet, recently groomed.

Rescue Me ID: 15-05-09-00245Pluto (male)
Hello Everybody! This is my handsome baby Pluto. My name is Jenna and my boyfriends name is Brandon and we have had Pluto since he was 8 Weeks old and he is about to be 2 years old. Due to current personal living situations we are unable to care for him the way he needs to be right now. We are looking for a foster home/ permanent home for him. Pluto grew up in an apartment setting for the first year and then to a 2 story house with medium sized backyard. He has grown up around another male dog with whom he has gotten along with moderately well. He does not do well with cats. He loves people and will certainly bring entertainment to a room. He has recently been neutered and we have been working very diligently to rectify his dominant/possessive behavior. He seems to do better with smaller more submissive dogs. Pluto is very high energy and needs plenty of stimulation. He loves running and playing outside especially with somebody. He is very independent but definitely enjoys company. He knows basic commands and is the smartest dog you will ever meet. Which can most certainly be a challenge. An ideal home for Pluto would be somewhere where he has plenty of room and backyard space. He would do best in a home as a single pet or suited with another dog more submissive. He needs quite a bit of attention and stimulation so it would be ideal for somebody to be with him for most of the day. He is very sweet and is extremely loved. We need a dedicated family that is willing to put in the time to continue working with Pluto and making him a special part of there home. He is definitely the light of ours and we certainly want the best for him. Preferably looking for somebody that has owned a husky before or owns one currently! These breeds require a lot of work. Please email me below if you are interested. (Less)

Looking a good home for two sisters. They must stay together. They have never been apart. They are not use to children. They have been raised with a elderly male and they are not use to the fast movements of children. I feel they will do well in a single male or female home. Call for more information.

Rescue Me ID: 15-04-28-00670Clover (female)
Clover is a sweet girl. Who will just love on you. Unfortunately the wife fears her high energy levels, and her lack of gentleness around our baby could lead to disaster. That and the hair every where. I would rather not lose her so I hope to find a good home for her.

Rescue Me ID: 15-04-15-00178Clyde (male)
If I had to write my own puppy dating profile it would probably read: Big fluffy goober puppy seeks fur-ever home! I'm Clyde... pulled today from the Tazewell shelter. I am around 2 yrs old & still havef LOTS of puppy energy and a wonderful singing voice. I need some work on my leash manners but I ride well in the car. I may be a little much for some other dogs because I do have a lot of energy so the rescue is going to require a few 'play dates' with any interested homes that have other dogs for that reason. I am UTD on shots & will be neutered and HW tested prior to moving into my new home.

Rescue Me ID: 15-04-02-00529Sheba (female)
Sheba is a well house-trained Akita-Husky mix. We adopted her at 6 years old from a single adult female, but unfortunately she has not adapted to living with children. She likes some dogs but is very alpha-dominant. Sheba is great with all adults, but unpredictable with young children. She is a very calm dog and only requires twice a day walks, only barks when someone is at the door, and is very healthy. She loves to sleep by the front door and guard the house. She would be perfect in a home with adults/ teenagers (no small children or other pets).

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Virginia
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Virginia if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
