Ryu is a great dog, gorgeous, healthy and loveable. We have had him since he was 7 weeks old, he is AKC registered. Adoption fee is $200 once you have neutered him I will give you back $150 of the adoption fee, you will also be supplied with a bag of his current food. We are moving out of the country and can not take our pets with us that is why we are looking for new homes for both Ryu and his playmate Angel (the white American Eskimo). I will only give him to someone who owns their own home and has a nice sized back yard that is fenced. If you have any questions feel free to call me.

She is a sweet dog, requires lots of attention. She nibbles a lot and loves to play. She plays with kids but can be a little ruff. She has bitten my son a few times but not in a aggressive matter, playfully but she doesn't know her own strength. I'm sure if well train she will be fine with children since she is really young. I'm her second owner.

Rescue Me ID: 14-04-22-00015Sasha (female)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed

This animal is available to licensed rescue groups only.  Please do not enquire unless with a licensed rescue group. A friend of mine came across a wolf mix at the poor excuse for a shelter in our college town. She was removed from her home because she killed a (neighbor's?) chicken, reportedly. Evidently she lived with a family with an infant and possibly other children and pets and never bit/attacked anyone or anything until this incident. According to animal control and county ordinances, she MUST be moved out of state or destroyed. She knows basic commands and seems extraordinarily friendly. She's located in Farmville, VA and is thought to be about three years old and spayed.

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Arthritis

Fritz is one of two husky/mix bonded dogs we got from the SPCA about 4-5 yrs ago, is neutered, chipped, and has all his shots. Appeared to have been abused previously - does not want to come into a house easily. Very good around kids and adults. We have two problems: 1) Our yard is not big enough for these dogs but 2) and more importantly, Fritz has a problem with his ACL (right rear leg) and we simply cannot afford the cost of surgery, Doesn't appear in pain but obviously favors it. Am hopeful to find a home with someone that might be able to have the surgery performed for him. As I said, he is half of a bonded pair. Mac is the other husky ... (Read More)mix, with same behaviors. He is dark colored and has the 'blue eye - orange eye combo'. We really would prefer that they stay together, and rather than enter Mac here too, can send pics of the dog to interested parties. Am willing to deliver to anyone that is willing and able to get Fritz the surgery required. (Less)

Sorry to all who have sent messages. The problem is fixed. Please inquire again. Beautiful husky. I've had her since she was a puppy. She no longer gets the attention she needs. She is very friendly and will come up to strangers and shake their hand and roll over for a belly rub. Like most huskies she is stubborn and does not listen well. She is strictly an outside dog, she hates being inside. We had the invisible fence set up but now she does not stay inside for some reason. We have a lot of people in our neighborhood and I am sure some of them are getting freaked out by a 'wolf' coming up to them.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Virginia
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Virginia if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.

lnteresting Siberian Husky Trivia Low-Cost Virginia Spay & Neuter Clinics
Huskies were bred from dogs indigenous to the Siberian Arctic. Huskies are named after tribes of Inuits called Huskies. The last Siberian Huskies were exported from Siberia in 1930, after which the Soviet government closed the country's borders to outside trade.
