Rescue Me ID: 18-01-18-00396Baby and Tiger (male)

Siberian Husky    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Baby and Tiger are Seeking a New Forever Home These two beautiful siberian huskies are up for adoption. Baby is a black and white girl with gorgeous blue eyes. Her brother, Tiger, is a red and white dog with blue eyes. The dogs just turned 5 years old, and what they'd really love for their birthday is a new forever family. Unfortunately, their daddy works a lot, so they just don't get the time and attention that they need. Also, they currently live in a townhouse, so they don't have enough space to run-something that huskies love to do! Baby and Tiger are very lovable, smart, high-energy dogs who need more TLC and a family who ... (Read More)will play with them routinely. They are seeking a loving, attentive, energetic family with a single family home and a nice yard (or a farm), where they can run and play. They need to stay together because these two siblings love each other! Baby and Tiger are current on their rabies vaccinations and other shots. They have not been spayed or neutered. They do have chips in case they get lost. If you are interested in Baby and Tiger, please email Lori at ccp537@yahoo.com. I am not the owner of the dogs. I am an animal-loving neighbor. The owner's name is Guo Qin Sun (goes by 'George'), and he asked me to help him find a new home for the dogs and act as the point of contact because his accent can be difficult for some people to understand. Siberian Husky    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Aggressive

My husband and I after much thought, debate, and reconsideration have decided that we need to rehome our two huskies. We are located in Virginia Beach, VA. We are willing to transport a reasonable distance. We adopted them at the age of 7 years old. Their previous owners were not truthful with us about the aggression they have towards all dogs. Due to my helping to care for my disabled mother (which will become permanent in a few years), she is unable to have her companion animal due to their aggression. They are great with each other and adults. They are also super sweet with new individuals. As far as we know they have never been tested ... (Read More)around children. Ruckus is light grey/white and weighs about 72 lbs. He is completely up to date on all shots, heart worm prevention, and flea/tick prevention. He is fixed. He is a gorgeous dog that LOVES to be petted, play with balls, spend time outside in cooler weather. He isn't a barker but will do the husky 'talk'. He's laid back and spends most of his day curled up sleeping. They both love chewing rawhide bones and will share their bones with each other. We will only consider adoptions where they will stay together as they do not do very well separated. Any rehoming fee that is collected will be donated to a local shelter or husky rescue. We are asking for a $75 rehoming fee for each so a total of $150. (Less)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Casper has made quite the journey to the Northern Virginia area. This gorgeous boy is a Texan native, he was one of the many dogs who were homeless prior to the hurricane and transported out of Texas to help make space in the shelters and rescues in those areas for the influx of displaced pets. Casper is estimated to be between one and two years old and has the sun-shiney young dog mentality without all of the puppy bad habits. Casper is always up for playing with his toys or his beloved humans and appreciates every walk he gets. He seems to be crate trained and has had a minimal amount of accidents while adjusting to his new schedule. ... (Read More)Casper gets along great with dogs and cats alike but nothing compares to how much he LOVES his humans...especially giving them kisses! Siberian Husky    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Needs Vaccinations

Mila is a loving, snuggly Siberian Husky. She has always been a family pet and we love her so much but she loves to hunt down small animals. We recently moved to a new neighborhood and she has killed 2 different neighbors cats and another neighbors ducks. Our neighbors are very upset. We live in the country and people around us have pet chickens, ducks, goats, cats ect. Mila cannot keep her contained since our property is so expansive. Mila would make a great snuggly house pet. She is not super high energy like most huskies. Mila also has a torn cruciate ligament in her knees (that doesn't seem to slow her down enough for her victims to ... (Read More)run from her). It does not impact her ability to run and play. She is wonderful with my 1 yo son and 2 yo daughter and my 14yo son.I have more pictures of her as well. She has one blue eye and one brown eye and would make an excellent indoor family pet. She has official papers and a micro chip. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Virginia
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Virginia if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.

lnteresting Siberian Husky Trivia Low-Cost Virginia Spay & Neuter Clinics
Huskies were bred from dogs indigenous to the Siberian Arctic. Huskies were imported to Alaska during the Nome Gold Rush. Huskies are named after tribes of Inuits called Huskies. Teams of Huskies were used during Gunnar Kaasen's 1925 run to deliver diphtheria vaccine to Nome. The last Siberian Huskies were exported from Siberia in 1930, after which the Soviet government closed the country's borders to outside trade.
