She is a very sweet submissive girl and non aggressive. Before ESP, we believe that she had spent her entire life outside based on her behavior and condition when she arrived. She has opened up quite a bit this week. She now takes treats out of her foster mom's hand and enjoys belly rubs. She has also started to give kisses. She is still working on how to play but we think with a little bit of time she will have that down. Her energy level right now is low to medium but believe it will increase once she gets established and settled. She doesn't have any major quirks besides learning to trust and I don't think that's really going to be a problem with time. She does shed but with regular brushing it will cut that down considerably. She is a great dog that would benefit from a patient, loving and trusting home. (Less)

All About Baron Baron has been a joy to foster. He has a lot of energy, but he is calm in the house and loves to lounge on the couch, much to my husband's dismay. During our work day, he is housed outside in a 30 by 40 ft kennel that my husband built. It is almost 6 ft tall and pretty much inescapable. Baron's one Achilles heel: He is an escape artist and needs a secure fence, at least 5 ft tall with NO gaps, no gates that are lower than the fence, etc. He was adopted and returned because they had a 4 ft fence and Baron used the woodpile to jump over it. He is very intelligent! And under normal circumstances, he comes to you when called, but when he's running free, he becomes deaf until he's finished with his run. He once slipped past me leaving the kennel and ran around for 30 minutes, then scratched at the door to come inside. So, its not as if he heads for the hills, never to return. But if someone lived in a higher traffic area, that could be the end of Baron. This is one reason I am very leery of adopting him to a home with small children. If the door is opened, he may dart out! Baron loves car rides, hiking and running beside a bicycle. He respects my indoor cats but will chase cats outside. He hasn't met a dog he didn't like and loves to play with dogs. I am in love with Baron and if my plate weren't so full, I'd keep him. He's beautiful, and attracts a lot of attention wherever I take him. (Less)

Dakota is an energetic 2 year old loving, playful Husky mix who is great with other dogs and cats as long (as there is no food or rawhide bones lying around.)He is a big dog with the heart of a puppy so he needs a home with NO KIDS. He loves to run, play fetch & get love! He is crate trained and knows basic commands. He needs a home with land or a very large fenced yard, he lives to roam and explore.

|PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Virginia|
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Virginia if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
