Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hello, my name is Riley. I was born on 26 May 2013 in a small town in Texas. I was rescued by my mommy right as I was about to be taken to the pound. Shortly after my mommy got a new job and we had to move to Virginia. I've never been away from my mom or my Sister Esim a lab mix but due to my mom's new job having long hours and living in a potentially dangerous place for me she can no longer keep my sister and I. I'm very friendly and love attention from whoever is willing to give it to me. I'm black mostly with some light brown and white areas on me. I've also been blessed with one blue and one brown eye. I'm spayed, current on my ... (Read More)vaccinations, microchipped, and I'm covered on a Banfield wellness plan at Petsmart until February 2015. I weigh about sixty pounds and love to run around my yard playing keep away from my sister or chasing sticks/balls thrown my way to fetch. I know some basic commands and while I'm not always the fastest learner I'm very eager to please so as long as you're willing to teach me I'm willing to learn (especially when given praise and treats). I'd love to go on runs with you or just lounge around and watch tv too I especially love affection and cuddling. I can't wait to love and be loved by you. (Less)

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Squeak is a great dog! He is a husky mix and adorable! He is super happy and loves people!! He is willing to learn and catches on quickly. He loves attention and is a very curious dog who likes to explore and sniff everything in sight! Squeak tends to be a bit skittish around other dogs and doesn't do as well with them all the time! Squeak would do great with a loving family and as an only dog so he could have all the attention he wants! He is a great snugger and loves to please people! He is easy to walk on a leash and knows how to sit as well! Squeak is a healthy dog and is up to date on all of his shots, neutered and micro-chipped. His ... Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

So lonesome he could cry. Hank's howl takes you to Yellowstone Park. Its a wild call of sorrow and yearning from a dog longing to have people embrace him. This sweet boy looks to folks for reassurance. Responsive to a kind hand, Hank waits for someone to change his tune.

Rescue Me ID: 14-03-14-00235Fritz (male)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Arthritis

Fritz is one of two husky/mix bonded dogs we got from the SPCA about 4-5 yrs ago, is neutered, chipped, and has all his shots. Appeared to have been abused previously - does not want to come into a house easily. Very good around kids and adults. We have two problems: 1) Our yard is not big enough for these dogs but 2) and more importantly, Fritz has a problem with his ACL (right rear leg) and we simply cannot afford the cost of surgery, Doesn't appear in pain but obviously favors it. Am hopeful to find a home with someone that might be able to have the surgery performed for him. As I said, he is half of a bonded pair. Mac is the other husky ... (Read More)mix, with same behaviors. He is dark colored and has the 'blue eye - orange eye combo'. We really would prefer that they stay together, and rather than enter Mac here too, can send pics of the dog to interested parties. Am willing to deliver to anyone that is willing and able to get Fritz the surgery required. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 13-07-16-00528Dakota (male)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Dakota is an energetic 3 year old very playful Husky mix who is dominant with other dogs and okay with cats as long as there's no food or rawhide bones lying around. He was rescued at 6 months; he wasn't socialized as a pup so he needs a home with NO KIDS. He loves to run, play fetch & get love! He is crate trained and knows basic commands. He needs to be walked several times a day or go to a home with land or a large fenced yard- he is a husky and needs plenty of excercise. He should not be left alone with other dogs as he will pick a fight over water, food, etc. He currently gets crated when home alone & loves his crate aka his 'man-cave.'

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Virginia
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Virginia if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
