Ruger is half lab half husky and is about 11 mos old. Ruger would be good with someone who is very authoritative, likes to exercise and knows something about dog training. He's very hyperactive and needs space to run. We have children and he is too rough for them - knocks them down, so he needs someone without children. Very loving, very kind 1 year old female Lab/Husky mix and was a rescue from a local shelter at the age of 2 months. She is an inside dog but is also crated trained and knows commands (i.e. sit, potty, cage, etc). Very active and gets along with other dogs but loves to exercise and go on hikes. We have started training her to go off the leash hikes while in isolated area's (away from traffic) and has a love for water. Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
