Rescue Me ID: 14-04-15-00034LOKI (male)
Loki is a beautiful year-old 50lb Vizsla/Husky mix friendly with other dogs. Loki's people became homeless and his best friend, an elderly Rottie, went to another rescue. Loki was heartbroken but stayed safe sby being kept temporarily here or there but he needed a stable situation, so AFFT stepped in to assist with that and we need your help! We have placed him in a small, very attentive boarding facility where he isn't crated and can be loved on and play with other dogs, but this is very expensive. We are seeking a local foster or forever home in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for this gorgeous, sweet-tempered youngster. Loki is neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped, housetrained and heartworm negative. He is ready for his own family to love! Please apply online for this handsome youngster at www.afftx.org (Less)

Rattler is a rescue that my uncle found wondering in front of his house. He is a high energy, funny dog that only wants to please. He is house trained, respects cats, gets along great with all dogs, knows how to swim isn't gun shy, and uses a doggy door. As far as we can tell his 1st home had children as he loves kids especially little boys. He fetches and returns balls and we are working on him catching Frisbees. He has been neutered, up to date on his shots, dewormed, heartworm negative (and is on heartworm preventative), and micro chipped. My uncle doesn't want to get rid of him but he isn't steady on his feet and Rattler has caused him to fall twice. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-04-09-00586Jacobi (male)
There are not enough words about this dog!!! He is gorgeous and very special. He has been in a situation where he was a gift to an older lady and he is just too much dog for her. Jacobi is a 2 year old pure breed Siberian Husky who enjoys being walked and having a play buddy, either a 4 legged play buddy or a human companion to give him some time & attention. He has lived in a home with an infant/toddler and a cat his entire life. He is very gentle, aware of his size and has great indoor manners. Jacobi gets along with everyone and just wants a little attention and to be walked sometimes. He is not demanding and has good behavior manners. He requires brushing as Huskies have a dramatic coat and he has been raised as an indoor dog and will need to be kept inside. This is not a backyard dog, he will not be a the happy well behaved dog that he is already if forced to live outside. Texas summers are too much, too hot for this Alaskan cold weather beauty. Not that it matters if Jacobi is a family pet but he is AKC registered and already neutered. He is crate trained, house trained, potty trained and has been to obedience school. He loved kids and is great with other dogs!!! He is a typical active dog which means he requires your attention!!!!!!! Jacobi is up to date on his vaccinations and rabies shots, he is microchipped, already neutered (fixed), has been dewormed and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative. His medical records will come with him at time of adoption. If you are willing to give this guy the love & attention he deserves and offer him a FOREVER home, please email us for an application. APPLICATION & ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-04-08-00544Luna (female)
[Read About Natural Incontinence Care] She is a white siberian husky, blue eyes, super sweet, playful. She has akc papers but i have yet to pay registration fees so leaves it open for whoever decides to have her. She has an ectopic euterer which she should not be bred. This is a abnormality and is rare. I was unaware of this when i purchased her. I am told it is corrective with surgery but can run a little over $1000. I can not afford this at the moment and this issue needs to be dealt with soon. It causes her to uncontrollably pee, and results in an infection around her vulva because of the constant urine. I apply a topical ointment and give her antibiotics to suppress the infection. That is why I have to get rid of her, i hope to find someone who would be interested in fixing the issue to save her because if it continues it could result in a kidney or bladder infection. this can be life threatening and in normal circumstances would cause her to get put down and I dont want that to happen. Please reply to 512 9837384. My name is Mike Smith, thank you. (Less)

Stormy is a husky/GSD mix- 2 years old in June. She gets along with all dogs, people of all ages & cats. She's crate trained; knows sit & kennel. She is very loving, knows when to be calm (around kids or cats) but can hang with any dog at the dog park. She loves to be chased by the other dogs and even people; she's still learning that the point of fetch is to bring the ball BACK! She is very patient & tolerant of my rowdy 8 yr old and my cat that likes to play bite (hard). She is also gentle with cats and puppies. She is fully vetted: spayed, dewormed, UTD on shots, microchipped, heartworm negative & has been on HW prevention for the past year without missing any doses (Less)

He has lived in a backyard and a kennel his entire life. He is great with other dogs, children, unsure about cats, but LOVES to take walks. He would like to be an inside/outside dog where he could have a backyard to play in. He does LOVE to sleep in the bed and snuggle on the couch, as pictured here.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Texas
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
