She is living in a rural area outside of Dallas on a 5 acre property. Cheyenne needs to be re-homed as the property she lives on does not have a secure fence.     This beautiful boy needs a loving home. This is RZA (Rizza). He is believed to be Husky/Lab mix. He is around 2-3 years old, 75lbs, and neutered. He loves to go for walks and runs on a leash. He also loves to run beside you on a bicycle while you hold onto his leash. He will play fetch, and knows his 'sit', 'down', and 'shake' commands very well. Rza is very obedient and loyal. No medical issues, no heartworms, and he is fully up to date on everything and on all his preventatives. He is mostly outside, and sleeps in the garage with fans currently but he wouldn't mind some inside time. He doesn't dig or try to escape. He does not get along ... (Read More)with other male dogs, and just a few female dogs, so a one-pet family would be ideal. He is not people aggressive at all. He has been around kids with no issues, but not lived with them. Needs a yard, and preferably someone that will take him on walks or will hire a pet-sitter to walk him. He is potty trained. I rescued this boy and after the storm displaced us, we have 9 dogs together currently, and many don't get along with others and has been causing unnecessary stress on them. I love this boy, but he isn't in a good situation currently and I have to respect that and his happiness. He will come with all his things (leash, harness, bowls, bed, toys, etc.) and his re-homing fee is $100. Please share! (Less)

Good morning, I have a 3 year old male husky that I need to surrender. He recently crossed over into my parents backyard (live next each other) and killed our small dog. After reading, I know it's not the husky's fault and wanting to give him a second chance with someone who can care for him. He is not good with small dogs or cats but good companion for someone with no small children. Thank you,

Rescue Me ID: 17-11-30-00437Saphira (female)

Siberian Husky    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Saphira: DOB: Unkown. Between 1 and 2 but vet believes closer to 2. Colors: Black and White with 'freckles' on her nose and blue eyes. Saphira is a sweet and loving girl that is full of life and energy. She is sassy too and loves to talk, especially when treats are involved. She is not fully used to being inside as, from my understanding, she was left outside most days. She is not destructive anymore either'|but still has an inclination to chew on something she's not supposed to. She is extremely smart and loves to please and seems to enjoy learning new things. She is not kennel trained either but we are making progress in this aspect. ... (Read More)She seems to be housebroken now that her UTI is resolved and she's realized she's safe inside. We have gone all week without an accident in the house, but she is not allowed upstairs for long periods at a time. At first this was due to her being afraid of the stairs; she would not come down them. But now it's because she is capable of having an accident (more so at night) as if she stays upstairs she may not make it to the door in time to go outside. However, she is no longer afraid of the stairs and loves running up and down them right before bed. She is full of personality and it's never a dull moment with her around. She loves to travel and see new places, although she's not the best of car riders right now. So far her favorite place seems to be the beach. She really loved running on the sand and trying to chase the birds. She is a people person and enjoys meeting new people as well. She is a little skittish about meeting new dogs but usually warms up quickly and is ready to play. She is NOT good with cats and I only say this because she came across one at the vet office and a stray/feral cat (assumed) on a walk. She would not settle down nor listen to any command given (at first). Her fur was on end and she was growling and barking at the cat. Her prey drive is extremely high as well, which I think her age has a lot to do with it. She chases squirrels, rabbits, and birds when able but she is getting much better at stopping when told. So far she has been around children between the ages of 18 months to 5 years old. She is better with the older kids though. Not to the point of being rough but her excitement tends to get the best of her and she can knock over the younger ones easier. She loves giving kisses and ears are her favorite. We have been working on setting boundaries for this and it usually takes her about 20 to 40 minutes for her to start realizing it. Walks are no longer a challenge for her. She used to constantly pull but is slowly learning leash etiquette. She still has an inclination to walk in front with the leash taught, but not to the point where she's pulling you along. I have learned that on walks to carry duck treats (so far she responds best to these) and can easily redirect her attention when needed. She is not completely treat motivated but between this and praise, she learns new things quickly. She knows basic commands such as sit and lay down or down. She does know speak as well. We have been working on stay as she likes to push her way past doors. She is getting better at this each and every day. Overall she's an amazing girl that just wants to please. Someone that is able to keep her motivated will keep her interest and she will respond amazingly to this. She definitely needs a lot of exercise and I think being a second dog (older) would be best. I suggest this because Rocky is pushing 6 and is quite content lying around the house. She gets her energy out and if she won't settle down, he will 'bark' at her a few times then she's lying down next to him relaxing. Things she's working on: Stay, not jumping on people (off), kennel training, riding in the vehicle, and reinforcing her chewing habits (trading items works great it seems. When I catch her in the act, she gets 'leave it' or 'no ma'am' and she stops chewing on the furniture. I then give her a toy or bone that she can. As mentioned earlier she has done fabulous with this and it's very minimal now.) (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-07-04-00441Parfait (female)

Siberian Husky    Age: Young Adult

Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

Parfait was found in terrible shape but fortunately she was one of the lucky ones and for a dog that was in critical condition not that long ago, Parfait has sure turned into a real sassy pants. Parfait looks and feels like a million bucks these days! And she couldn't be any sweeter. Her bloodwork results came back and surprised us all that it's all within normal range and she's cleared to go to a foster home!! (We were expecting her to be in medical boarding for another 3 months with remaining treatments!) Due to her kidney disease tho, the Internal Medicine doc at A&M recommended she not go thru the standard HW treatment so we're opting ... (Read More)for the soft/slow kill treatment and not be spayed at this time. There's a chance her kidneys could improve and be able to do the spay and hard kill treatment if still needed. We are now looking for a foster home for her where she can do normal activity but not long runs, etc. Email contactus@texassleddogrescue.org for more info. (Less)

Siberian Husky    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Tucker! This handsome hound was rescued from a shelter, where he was running out of time. Now, he is hanging out with us until he finds a new home! Tucker is looking for a family who knows and understands the Husky breed! To learn more, see Dog's 101 at https://www.animalplanet.com/tv-shows/dogs-101/videos/siberian-husky. This pretty boy is ALL athlete, and a true testament to his breed. He loves to run, and never tires so for those of you who are already on the trails, or looking to get off the couch more, this boy would make an excellent partner. He excels at just about anything including hiking, biking, trailing, swimming, and ... (Read More)boating! He is ALL husky, and is your average build at around 50 lbs. He loves to talk, as most of his breed do, and enjoys engaging in adorable conversations that seem to turn pretty one sided near the end of it! He is extremely smart, and learns quickly! Though as they say, you can't outsmart a husky, they can be stubborn when they want to! Not to worry though, Tucker has manners and for the majority of the time, knows how to use them! He gets along well with most dogs, but can be a typical jester. He can pick on them at times when the play is over, as most huskies do, but a game of tag, keep away or fetch always grabs his attention! As most of his breed, he can be over confident and driven so a home without cats would be best for Tucker, since prey drive is common with his breed. As for children, like most Huskies they enjoy children because they themselves are pretty childish in personality and nature. However, we prefer a home who has experience with this breed, as they can be mouthy in their play. So older children or those with breed experience, is preferred! Originally adopted 7/25/2016; returned 9/25/2016 (Less)

Need Gentle Kisses? Then Miz Souffle is the lil' Southern Lady for you!!! Super sweet and gentle with everyone, she is a favorite with whomever meets her and at Doggie Daycare. She may have had a broken pelvis but this girl takes it in stride and enjoys her walks, daycare activities and running in the yard teasing her foster sister Noshy. Let me clarify the last bit, she teases Noshy then runs away to hide behind me :P Note: with humans she can be mouthy and grab your hand in play but will not break skin. And you should see her stamp her little paws when playing with her foster brother Max - you could just die of cuteness overload!!! She ... (Read More)knows how to use a dog door, is leash trained and will come (90% of the time) when called. With an open gate you need to watch her like a hawk as she will try to run past you for a walk about the neighborhood - Souffle 2, Humom 0. She is not a jogging buddy due to her old injuries but she loves a good walk where she can try to chase squirrels or cats. Yup she has high prey drive - no little critters in her future furever family. It would be great if she had some human or fur siblings to keep her company in her new home as she is very social - once she gets to know you. She would not do well with very Hyper Dogs or Children. If you need some good old Southern Lovin, Paw Stompin Cuteness then Miz Souffle is the lil' lady for you!!! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-06-07-00414Ralph (male)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Female Dogs Only, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

Hello my name is Angie I currently reside in Texas but Im from Louisiana... I love furbabies and this is how Ralph and his 6 littermates came about. I rescued his mother from a McDonalds parking lot. I do not know her exact breed however she look similar to a Shiba Inu mixed with American Dingo. Ralph is really sweet and such a comedian, sometimes he is good with cats and sometimes he just want to play with them which for him means making them run while he chase them, if they warn him to stop however he does cower and stop for now. He is very vocal, he love to howl like a wolf, he is the shortest and smallest male from the litter, he is ... (Read More)currently 12 months old and weigh 54 Ibs. His male parts are intact, neutering him would definitely be recommended because he have a strong Akita/Shiba Inu drive and therefore he love to be a part of the pack, he is very loyal, and he does have separation anxiety, he hate being alone and when he is alone he can be destructive. He is a crate escape artist. He remind me of a Siberian Husky and he have features similar to an Akita. He is very sweet and playful, he definitely is the smartest of the litter and he can be stubborn when he want something but his temperament is calm and alert, very protective and a great guard dog. He is cautious when going around strangers and very attached to his humans which will be a bit of a hump for him to transition to a new furever home and trust his new family but once he is comfortable with you he is very loyal. He is house broken and know his name and also basic commands such as shake and sit. I have to rehome the puppies because they are a bit much to handle, I love them dearly and my last resort will be to surrender them to a shelter which here isnt a no kill shelter because they are all full. The puppies are very calm and sweet separated but together they are really mischievous. They are cramped inside my house and they all need their own spaces. Please contact me if you think she is a great fit for you! Thank you for taking the time to read this and my contact info is 2817104673 (home number that I can also receive text on) and also thomasangela20@gmail.com, If you would like to have her added to your family and then decide that it isn't working out I will definitely take her back Bless you! Princess look just like her but she is small/medium sized compared to the others in the litter she is the smallest, 38 Ibs, she is the one from the litter that is most identical to her mom. She also would make a great guard dog. When she hear someone at the door or any sounds she is very aware and may bark. She love to playfully bite but she is never aggressive with playing. She does have food aggression so she would have to not be fed next to any other dogs. She is curious in regards to cats but she sleep with my cats in my bed. I currently still have all 7 puppies from their litter but they are 12 months old now and they have a strong pack drive and now they are competing for Alpha status. Also they are very expensive to feed and I cannot dedicate to them all of the attention they deserve. They have attachment issues which Im sure will be easily adjustable once the transition to a new furever home happens. She is an inside dog. She doesn't have any vaccines, however I have her on flea meds (advantage 2 every four weeks) and every three months I give her dewormers (from lambert supply store). She may be a bit cautious at first with adjusting because they are really loyal dogs but once she is comfortable with her new family she will be very loyal. She is housebroken, knows her name and also basic commands such as shake and sit. He has high energy according to his foster mom and gets the zoomies several times a day especially now that it is cooler! He loves the dog park and he loves water!!! He will sit when commanded and still learning more manners everyday. He pulls a little bit on walks but for the most part walks well with his foster pack. He has some dominant traits in him and would like to be the boss, but his brothers are older and larger so he is stuck at the bottom of the totem pole! When he first came home, he showed some food aggression ... (Read More)and he is still working on that, and he is weary of people approaching him at night, nothing a little dedicated training can't fix. He will still try to mark occasionally but usually pretty good. He is close with a younger husky sibling and has bonded well so he would do best in a home with other dogs, preferably submissive! He loves to chase squirrels so cats are probably out for him, although he has not been formally tested (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Texas
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
