Rescue Me ID: 14-06-29-00334Heidi (female)

Siberian Husky    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Heidi is a very sweet, pure breed husky. We found her after she escaped from her owner and turned up in our yard. We fell in love at once and her previous owner said we were welcome to keep her because she did not get along with the two german shepards in her previous home. However we have a golden retriever and a cat. We have kept her away from the cat but let her play with the golden when we are at home. She has gotten aggressive with him a couple times, usually over food. As it is in husky's nature to escape, it would be best that her new owner has a fence or takes her on regular walks.

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Very High Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Denver is a really great dog, but he has become a little aggressive over the last couple of years. He takes a while to warm up to new dogs and has to be introduced very carefully. He dose not do well with other alpha dogs. He does get along with adults and children, but if he gets to excited/ interested he may knock you over so small children are not ideal in his family. His aggression is something that worries me because there have been a few instances that he has snapped at me.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Tennessee
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Tennessee if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.

lnteresting Siberian Husky Trivia Low-Cost Tennessee Spay & Neuter Clinics
Huskies were bred from dogs indigenous to the Siberian Arctic. Huskies are named after tribes of Inuits called Huskies. Teams of Huskies were used during Gunnar Kaasen's 1925 run to deliver diphtheria vaccine to Nome. The last Siberian Huskies were exported from Siberia in 1930, after which the Soviet government closed the country's borders to outside trade.
