Rescue Me ID: 16-05-23-00784Will (male)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Hello my name is Will. I am a 1 year old Husky mix and we aren't real sure of the mix. I weigh about 70 pounds and I am full grown. I was a street dog just running along one day and I was so hungry. This rescue lady spotted me and well she feed me, took me in and now I am a foster dog. I am looking for a family. I hear it is amazing to be a part of one. I am really am a sweet fella that enjoys your attention, car rides and sniffing everything I possibly can. I am good with female dogs only and I am great with children. No cats please! I am house broken crate trained, up to date on all of my vaccines, neutered and I have a micro chip. Now all ... Rescue Me ID: 16-05-22-00118Oakley (male)

Siberian Husky    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Oakley is a pure bred Siberian husky, outside dog he is not house or crate trained but is well mannered while inside and could probably be trained as a house dog with patience. He gets along well with female dogs, however because he is an intact male, he probably would not do well with another male dog unless both are neutered. He is a typical husky with high prey drive when it comes to small animals. He does not do well with cats.

Rescue Me ID: 16-04-04-00172Chula (female)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Fearful/Anxious

My grandmother passed away and left behind two dogs and a cat. They need to find new homes or they will have to be put down. Please spread the word to anyone you know who might be interested! Dogs are not good with other animals or children. They have bitten before. Chula, small young husky mix. Full grown (about 2 ft. tall). Very shy. I think she would be a very good dog with a little training. She is probably around 5 or 6 years old. I know they are not exactly ideal pets, but we're just trying to give them a chance. They are located in Strawberry Plains, but I live in West Knoxville near Cedar Bluff.

Rescue Me ID: 16-02-04-00261Cheyenne (female)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Cheyenne is a 2 year old Husky mix we pulled from the local high kill shelter and was heartworm positive. This girl is special. She needs a home that is going to understand her. She loves people but doesn't enjoy being on a leash around another dog. It literally terrifies her and she becomes defensive. I don't know what she has went through but she just needs to feel safe. She will walk some but then just wants to hold on to you and you reassure her she is ok. When she is home and knows she is safe, she just stays near you and will go lay down or check out her surroundings. She needs a home that isn't up for taking her on trips. She's a home ... (Read More)body and taking her away makes her uncomfortable. She must have been thrown around a lot or dumped and she craves safety. This girl is fantastic. She's so sweet and when her personality comes out ..it is sweet watching her prance around. She adores children, Cheyenne just follows my daughter around and lets her do anything she likes. It would be good for Cheyenne to be the only dog or with another dog that isn't over bearing. She will play some but she still is unsure if the other dog wants to play or fight, so she will become defensive. She has never just attacked a dog. Her hair just stands and she will growl until she knows the dog will not cause harm. Cheyenne is a wonderful girl, it will just take an understanding person to be as loyal and caring to her as she will be to them. Cheyenne is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, spayed, microchipped and on monthly preventatives. (Less)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

H my name is Oliver and I am an unwanted dog. I am between 1 and 2 years old an I have been unwanted my entire life. I have spent most of my time on the streets until I finally ended up in a high kill shelter. Just when I thought it was all over a rescue swooped in, saw my potential and saved me. I went to what they call a foster home and boy was I scared and a nervous wreck. Humans being kind to me? Inside the house, seriously? I have never been treat so kind. It was a huge adjustment for me. I mean I was a street mutt, good things just don't happen for us street dogs. It took me a week or 2 but I realized this was an awesome way to live. I ... (Read More)love being in a home with humans. Belly rubs, ear scratches, toys and treats. OMG! I LOVE TREATS! I have other dogs to play with and cats if I want to but we mostly ignore each other. I like children to but I think I need a home with bigger kids. I knock the little ones over and their moms don't like it when I smack them in the face with my tail. It wags a lot, I can't help it, a happy dog means a wagging tail. I am house broken, I don't chew so no crate required, I am neutered and I have a micro chip. Now I jus need you, I love having a family and being treated like a member of the family. Please pick me, all you have to do is visit www.soardoggyrescue.org to fill out an application. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Tennessee
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Tennessee if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
