Take a look at this beautiful girl! Cheyenne is a 2 year old Siberian Husky mix. She was another local dog we saved from a high kill shelter. She had been adopted once but returned and we knew we had to help save her life as most dogs who are adopted out and returned are put to sleep. The reasoning why she was returned to the pound was she had never been on a leash before and the people didn't want to put the effort into training her. We pulled her from the pound and took her to the vet. We received the news no rescue wants to hear. She was heartworm positive. We immediately got her started on her treatment. During this time, we learned a ... (Read More)lot about her. Cheyenne wants to feel safe. This is all she longs for in life. We assume Cheyenne was moved around a lot when she was a puppy and she is afraid to leave where she is comfortable. We are working with her still on this but she is making huge leaps. In the beginning, when you would put her on a leash she would take two steps then wrap her legs around your legs (yes, she would hug your legs). Her foster mom is making wonderful progress with this issue, but once she learns where she is she doesn't have to be on a leash as she doesn't want to leave her human. She is a very loyal girl who just wants a family to be understanding that it takes her time to feel that security. We also feel she would do best in a home where the family doesn't take a lot of trips or very active. Cheyenne loves her foster family and especially the children. She is very gentle towards the toddler in the family as well. She is also great with the foster dog brothers and sisters. She loves to prance around the yard and play with the others. She is current on all vaccines, heartworm negative, on monthly prevention, and spayed. (Less)

We took in Lakota as a foster from an acquaintance a few days ago. He is energetic, a little underfed, and an escape artist. Adoptive home must have an 8 ft privacy fence to contain him. Our fence is not working and he has run off and been picked up 2 of four work days this week. He needs a home as quickly as possible before he gets out and gets hurt. He is very loving and sweet!

Rescue Me ID: 15-07-14-00727Bruno (male)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Vaccinations Current

BRUNO is a friendly, sweet chocolate and tan Shepherd mix male who was picked up as a stray in Troy, TN. He was not claimed by an owner and his time was up at Animal Control so he was rescued. He now needs to find a foster or forever home. He is estimated to be around a year old and he is thin at 34 pounds. He could use a good brushing, but looks like a very handsome dog. He tested negative for heartworm. He has been vetted and vaccinated and will soon be neutered. If you live in another state, don't let that stand in your way. We will work to transport Bruno if it means he will have a good forever home. If you are another rescue ... (Read More)group, we will waive the adoption fee but you can make a donation toward vetting at your discretion. The adoption fee will help our 501(c)3 non-profit rescue to cover the cost of his veterinary care and neuter. (Less)

Siberian Husky    Age: Young Adult

Sadie is a purebred Siberian Husky as far as I know, we are still trying to find paperwork on her. She also belonged to my late cousin Mike. She spent a few days at an animal shelter after Mike's death, one of my cousins fetched but only after she had been spayed. She has had all her shots and appears to be in excellent health. She is an outside dog. She appears suspicious of strangers but will warm to people over time. Well she hasn't eaten either of my cousins yet. I cannot take her to live with me, I am hoping that whoever takes her will take Buddy as well and vice versa. I did not know her well and only saw her when I visited my cousin ... Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This Husky belonged to my Cousin Mike, he died recently and I don't have room for the dog, he is being cared for and fed regularly. He spent a brief period at a city animal shelter and has had a vet inspection and neutering and shots. I had no control over this. He's a great watchdog and is on a steady diet of dry dog food. He is suspicious of strangers and it takes some time to acclimate him to new people but after that he is calm and a good dog. I wish I knew more about him, but I don't, only accepting emails do not call or text me please

Siberian Husky Mix

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats, Good with Adult Women Only
Personality: Very High Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive,
 Abused/Neglected, Aggressive

This is Buddy. I took Buddy in a year and a half ago. Prior to taking him in Buddy lived in the wild fending for himself, doing whatever it took. Per the animal control officer here Buddy had been left tied behind a house with the people moving away leaving him with no food or water for almost a month. When he tried to bring him in he got away. In the last week he has attacked neighborhood dogs for no apparent reason. He behaves more predatory than aggressive if that makes any sense. He caught and killed a wild turkey last summer. It's the same type of behavior. I live in town and don't know what to do. I am thinking of putting him to ... (Read More)sleep. Buddy is half White Shepherd. I don't let him run loose but if he gets loose I have a lot of trouble catching him and getting him put back up. I am terrified the next attack will be a person or small child. If there is anyone out here who might want to give him a home that thinks they can work with him please send me a message or call. Buddy is up to date on his shots, neutered, and micro chippped. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Tennessee
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Tennessee if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.

lnteresting Siberian Husky Trivia Low-Cost Tennessee Spay & Neuter Clinics
Huskies were bred from dogs indigenous to the Siberian Arctic. Huskies were imported to Alaska during the Nome Gold Rush. The last Siberian Huskies were exported from Siberia in 1930, after which the Soviet government closed the country's borders to outside trade.
