Rescue Me ID: 15-07-01-00577Sadie (female)

Siberian Husky    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Male Dogs Only, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Sadie is a purebred Siberian Husky as far as I know, we are still trying to find paperwork on her. She also belonged to my late cousin Mike. She spent a few days at an animal shelter after Mike's death, one of my cousins fetched but only after she had been spayed. She has had all her shots and appears to be in excellent health. She is an outside dog. She appears suspicious of strangers but will warm to people over time. Well she hasn't eaten either of my cousins yet. I cannot take her to live with me, I am hoping that whoever takes her will take Buddy as well and vice versa. I did not know her well and only saw her when I visited my cousin ... (Read More)which wasn't much. I want her to go to a good home. (Less)

Siberian Husky Mix

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats, Good with Adult Women Only
Personality: Very High Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive,
 Abused/Neglected, Aggressive

This is Buddy. I took Buddy in a year and a half ago. Prior to taking him in Buddy lived in the wild fending for himself, doing whatever it took. Per the animal control officer here Buddy had been left tied behind a house with the people moving away leaving him with no food or water for almost a month. When he tried to bring him in he got away. In the last week he has attacked neighborhood dogs for no apparent reason. He behaves more predatory than aggressive if that makes any sense. He caught and killed a wild turkey last summer. It's the same type of behavior. I live in town and don't know what to do. I am thinking of putting him to ... (Read More)sleep. Buddy is half White Shepherd. I don't let him run loose but if he gets loose I have a lot of trouble catching him and getting him put back up. I am terrified the next attack will be a person or small child. If there is anyone out here who might want to give him a home that thinks they can work with him please send me a message or call. Buddy is up to date on his shots, neutered, and micro chippped. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Tennessee
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Tennessee if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
