Siberian Husky    Age: Puppy

Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Needs to be Spayed

Hi! My name is Arya, I'm an 8 month old female siberian husky. My coloring is red, black, and white. I am gorgeous! Arya is such a sweet, loving dog. We just got in a little over our head with her, she had never been away from her parents and we don't have the dog or husky experience to help. She needs a strong owner who can show her they are the leader. Housebroke. Semi-crate trained, will go into the crate but still wants to whine while in it. She will make a wonderful dog for someone who has the experience to handle her. She is not great with cats, not aggressive all the time but I'm afraid she is going to over power ours. Please give ... Animal ID: D150349Mika (female)

Siberian Husky    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

When you meet Mika you'll first notice her striking blue eyes, and when you pet her you'll find her fluffy coat is super soft. But her outstanding feature is her happy personality! Mika is a 4 year old Siberian Husky, and she is seeking a family who will love her and provide her a secure area where she can stretch her long legs. Mika, true to her husky nature, loves to explore outside. She is good with other dogs but prefers to dine at a table for one when it's her meal time. At 62 pounds, Mika is a large dog - probably a bit much for small children. If you have known and loved a husky before, Mika would love to meet you. She's dreaming of a ... (Read More)home with a big fenced yard for her to run in and a loving person to take her for long walk. She's great on a leash! This dog is located and fostered in Tennessee. Minimum Adoption Donation $150 in TN, $200 plus transportation fee for out of state adoptions. If you are interested in this pet but have questions that are not answered here, please fill out our Pet Inquiry Form: The first step to adopting is to complete our online Adoption Application: THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE!     Take a look at this beautiful girl! Cheyenne is a 2 year old Siberian Husky mix. She was another local dog we saved from a high kill shelter. She had been adopted once but returned and we knew we had to help save her life as most dogs who are adopted out and returned are put to sleep. The reasoning why she was returned to the pound was she had never been on a leash before and the people didn't want to put the effort into training her. We pulled her from the pound and took her to the vet. We received the news no rescue wants to hear. She was heartworm positive. We immediately got her started on her treatment. During this time, we learned a ... (Read More)lot about her. Cheyenne wants to feel safe. This is all she longs for in life. We assume Cheyenne was moved around a lot when she was a puppy and she is afraid to leave where she is comfortable. We are working with her still on this but she is making huge leaps. In the beginning, when you would put her on a leash she would take two steps then wrap her legs around your legs (yes, she would hug your legs). Her foster mom is making wonderful progress with this issue, but once she learns where she is she doesn't have to be on a leash as she doesn't want to leave her human. She is a very loyal girl who just wants a family to be understanding that it takes her time to feel that security. We also feel she would do best in a home where the family doesn't take a lot of trips or very active. Cheyenne loves her foster family and especially the children. She is very gentle towards the toddler in the family as well. She is also great with the foster dog brothers and sisters. She loves to prance around the yard and play with the others. She is current on all vaccines, heartworm negative, on monthly prevention, and spayed. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Tennessee
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Tennessee if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
