Poor Big Boy! He was surrendered to a shelter with his brother Nitro and was so terrified there. You can see the picture of him hiding under the bench upon intake. A plea was sent out to us for assistance because being so scared, he would surely be destroyed (euthanized) and deemed unadoptable. He is doing so well in rescue and so relieved to be safe and out of that scary place! He is absolutely stunning and a gorgeous husky with one blue eye and one brown. He is a year old approximately, and weighs 50 lbs. We are learning about him but his surrendering family said he was raised around children and small dogs as well. Big Boy is ready for ... Animal ID: 1234Skye (female)

Siberian Husky    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Skye is an amazing dog, so very sweet. She is a typical husky likes to be ran high energy. We had her on a runner outside, because she cannot go off leash. She is great with our kids and always has been, but we have a baby and toddler now and the toddler falls on her and I am afraid one of these times she will bite, just out of protection of herself.

He has started treatment and his foster mom is working hard on getting his weight to a healthy point. Odie is the result of a back yard breeder. Rescue Me ID: 16-03-12-00096Samson (male)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

Samson is a three year old mix breed dog that we adopted when he was about 8 weeks old. Generally Samson is a very good dog, loves to be with his humans, and loves playing fetch. We've had some issues with treat/toy aggression towards our other dog and he recently snapped at our son (which was my fault). It was not intentional and he has not been aggressive towards people on purpose. However, I feel he would be better off in a home with older children, and/or being the only dog until he can learn to not be treat/toy aggressive. If adopted, we can provide all paperwork showing he is UTD on all shots, he will have a travel kennel, his bed, ... (Read More)and various toys. I want him in a new forever home where he will be loved and taken care of. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in South Carolina
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in South Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.

lnteresting Siberian Husky Trivia Low-Cost South Carolina Spay & Neuter Clinics
Huskies were bred from dogs indigenous to the Siberian Arctic. Huskies are named after tribes of Inuits called Huskies. Teams of Huskies were used during Gunnar Kaasen's 1925 run to deliver diphtheria vaccine to Nome. The last Siberian Huskies were exported from Siberia in 1930, after which the Soviet government closed the country's borders to outside trade.
