Rescue Me ID: 16-03-12-00096Samson (male)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

Samson is a three year old mix breed dog that we adopted when he was about 8 weeks old. Generally Samson is a very good dog, loves to be with his humans, and loves playing fetch. We've had some issues with treat/toy aggression towards our other dog and he recently snapped at our son (which was my fault). It was not intentional and he has not been aggressive towards people on purpose. However, I feel he would be better off in a home with older children, and/or being the only dog until he can learn to not be treat/toy aggressive. If adopted, we can provide all paperwork showing he is UTD on all shots, he will have a travel kennel, his bed, ... (Read More)and various toys. I want him in a new forever home where he will be loved and taken care of. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in South Carolina
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in South Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
