Rescue Me ID: 17-06-23-00300Silky (female)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Needs Vaccinations

This is a sweet lovable old girl who has been our family pet since Valentine's weekend of 2009 when she was not quite 3 months old. It kills me to have to let her go but I unfortunately am quickly approaching not even having a home for myself. I need to make sure that she is going to be well taken care of. I tend not to answer phone numbers I do not recognize and my text is not currently working so best method of contact would be email. Put 'I'd love to rehome Silky' in the subject line and email to Mamariki1980@gmail.com.

She's good around children once she gets to know them. She lives with a Pomeranian, and she's good with her. But some dogs she doesn't like. She lives with a cat inside, but she chases cats she sees outside. She'll run outside if the door is open. She can jump a 4 foot chain link fence. She needs a 6 foot privacy fence. PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Oklahoma
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Oklahoma if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.

lnteresting Siberian Husky Trivia Low-Cost Oklahoma Spay & Neuter Clinics
Huskies were bred from dogs indigenous to the Siberian Arctic. Huskies were imported to Alaska during the Nome Gold Rush. Huskies are named after tribes of Inuits called Huskies. Teams of Huskies were used during Gunnar Kaasen's 1925 run to deliver diphtheria vaccine to Nome. The last Siberian Huskies were exported from Siberia in 1930, after which the Soviet government closed the country's borders to outside trade.
