Rescue Me ID: 15-06-09-00817Porter (male)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Porter is such a great puppy! He was born on December 25th - 2014 so he's still very young. He's crate trained, housebroken and so great on walks. He also doesn't stray very far off the leash and comes when called. I took him out of a bad situation knowing I wouldn't always be able to keep him. But he is current on shots and just needs to be neutered eventually. He doesn't hump things though and isn't dog aggressive at all so I haven't really noticed it much. He will adapt to almost any environment but it would be great if he went somewhere with another dog to play with! He's such an awesome pup. But I foster dogs so I cannot keep him ... (Read More)forever. His adoption fee covers his shots and he has a nice leash and collar that I'll throw in as well. I know he will make someone/a family very happy! I should also mention he's extremely intelligent and picks up on things very quickly. He's stopped jumping on my when I greet him and he knows not to run and jump around in the house. He's very well mannered for a puppy! Please call or text me at 214 620 7738. Or email me with other questions. (Less)

Siberian Husky Mix

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Malnourished

Early this morning I found a dog outside of my office, he seems to be fairly young and a husky mix, he's very sweet and is so skinny I wanted to cry. I immediately got him food and water and took him to my house. I called the animal shelter here (it's a no kill shelter run by an adoption organization) and was told they are at capacity and can't take any more animals. I put him in my backyard, unsure what to do with him but not wanting to leave him on the streets and he climbed over my fence. He's now in my garage but I don't want to leave him there. I have 4 dogs and can't keep him. As much as I'd like to it's just not possible. I'm willing ... (Read More)to take him to the vet and pay for anything I need to make him adoptable. Thanks! (Less)

Copper is a 9 year old red Husky, sweet disposition and loves attention! He has been lonely since his littermate sister died a couple of years ago. Family is moving out of state and new residence has no yard. Also, current house in Moore had recent storm damage and the fence is down so he has been chained for 2 weeks. He is slightly heavy, needs regular walking. Rarely around small children or other dogs, but no known issues when he has been. Has always been an outside dog.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Oklahoma
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Oklahoma if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.

Huskies were bred from dogs indigenous to the Siberian Arctic. Huskies were imported to Alaska during the Nome Gold Rush. Huskies are named after tribes of Inuits called Huskies. The last Siberian Huskies were exported from Siberia in 1930, after which the Soviet government closed the country's borders to outside trade.
