Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Sammie is exceptionally bright! She wandered up onto our front porch 1.5 years ago and just decided to stay. We took her in and have cared for her. She is very sweet and loving. She LOVES attention. She's good with other dogs and people. She is housebroken and likes to be inside as long as people are around. She does not like to be inside alone and hates to be locked up. We have a new baby in the house, so she can't be in anymore. She isn't getting the attention she needs. She is high energy, she loves to run! She is a digger so we use an underground fence to keep her in. We think she's intelligent enough to make an excellent K9 police ... (Read More)animal but we don't know enough about it to pursue that avenue. We also think she'd be great on a farm. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Oklahoma
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Oklahoma if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
