Rescue Me ID: 15-01-19-00298Nakota (male)

Siberian Husky    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Hip Dysplasia, Fearful/Anxious

Nakota is about a year and a half old. He is very playful and loves people. He is a very active puppy and loves to play, he is great around other dogs, and loves playmates. He is a sweetheart, but he requires a fenced in yard so he can run around and play more, which I do not have. I would like for him to go to someone who knows about the breed and who is able to give him a lot of attention. He has slight separation anxiety, so he needs to be around more people or more dogs to keep him company. He is a great inside/outside dog, but like I said, he requires a fenced in yard, or he will quickly run off if given the chance. He has hip problems, ... (Read More)which he has been taken to the vet for. The vet informed us that it is typical of the breed to have hip problems, and that they do not require surgery. Nakota is a very sweet and playful dog, just needs more attention than what I can give. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-01-12-00348Shdow (male)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

Shadow is a Lab, Husky, Wolf Mix. He is about 3 to 5 years old. He gets along great with adults, with children adults 10 and younger adults need to coach him on how to behave. He nibbles when he likes you. Very strong, only barks when strangers are around or someone/something gets to close. He does play with my other dog but is more aggressive. I am not able to take care of him anymore as when he was young his chewing habits were anything in site which has cost me. I would like for him to go to a good home and pray that he does not get put down. Loves to go on walks and plays catch. Very high in energy and loves affection. He is not house ... Rescue Me ID: 15-01-07-00587Chevy (female)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Chevy loves people, though she is a good guard dog in that she barks when there's someone she doesn't know. She's been an outdoor dog her whole life and likes to dig, as part of her breed, but she is very smart and learns commands pretty quick. She may need to be trained to be gentle with children since she gets excited and happy and jumps without realizing how big she is.

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-19-00234Sammie (female)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Sammie is exceptionally bright! She wandered up onto our front porch 1.5 years ago and just decided to stay. We took her in and have cared for her. She is very sweet and loving. She LOVES attention. She's good with other dogs and people. She is housebroken and likes to be inside as long as people are around. She does not like to be inside alone and hates to be locked up. We have a new baby in the house, so she can't be in anymore. She isn't getting the attention she needs. She is high energy, she loves to run! She is a digger so we use an underground fence to keep her in. We think she's intelligent enough to make an excellent K9 police ... PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Oklahoma
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Oklahoma if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
