This is Anya, she's 9yrs old and needs a new home. She's not adjusting well to the kids. So an adult home is needed or older children, no cats and she's dog selective. We think she'd prefer only child or at most another husky. Please let us know if you would like to foster or adopt. Thank you!

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Female Dogs Only, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

I'm unfortunately looking to surrender our 5yr old husky/pitbull named Rango. We're the foster owners, got him 3 weeks ago from his only owner in the Bronx. Well taken care of, trained, worked as guard dog in the house. Our house is a bit too hectic for him, he'd be perfect for a quiet home with an active couple or family with older children. He has some separation anxiety issues and anxiety around strangers, but lots of love for his primary owners. Would be best for people with some dog training experience. He loves running around the woods, lots of energy, plays fetch and well trained with basic commands (sit, lay down, come, paw), crate ... (Read More)trained. Does well with other dogs outside, needs to be on a leash with male dogs. Neutered, vaccines up to date, has lots of love for a good home. (Less)

Siberian Husky    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Very High Energy
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Chase is a great boy, I've had him since he was 3 months old. He is now 1 year old. I wish I could keep him but due to my small apartment, my family and I decided to give him to a home in which there is lots of space for him to play. We encourage those who have backyards/ live in houses. We prefer to keep him in the State of New York, we would like to see him from time to time because he means so much to us. The price can be negotiated, we paid a good amount for him that is why it is where it is. He does require a little training but it's nothing major. Please contact me if interested in this beautiful puppy. 516-263-9557

Siberian Husky    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Frankie has a face that elicits 'awww's and looks that could stop traffic, with a personality that endears him to anyone who meets him. Billed as a total sweetheart, Frankie definitely lives up to the moniker. Frankie is a senior gentleman who has a lively disposition and can outrun most of his four- and two-legged friends but does prefer to run to your side as opposed to running around the yard. Frankie has had an unusual history with us at Adopt-A-Dog, having been adopted out twice in 2009 and then again in 2015. For any dog, having the security of a loving family and home taken away from them is a hard blow to bear and Frankie has dealt ... (Read More)with it twice. Our quest is to find Frankie a forever home that he can enjoy his senior years in. When Frankie bonds with people it is for life, and we would love nothing more than to see Frankie bond with his forever family! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-06-17-00352Thumbelina (female)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Very High Energy
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Like her pint-sized namesake, this Thumbelina has tons of personality in her small body. A few adjectives to sum up Thumbelina would be: playful, energetic, precocious and adorable. She even has one quizzical eyebrow that lends her the expression of 'Is it playtime now?'. When not playing, Thumbelina is actively trying to devise a scheme to get into the nearest lap for a cuddle. Thumbelina is one of those dogs that you can't stop talking about; she has the looks, personality and smarts all to commend her. Her energy comes in handy whenever she's in a playdate with any number of her canine pals. None of the other dogs can catch Miss ... (Read More)Thumbelina when she's in the yard! Thumbelina is equally social with her dog friends as she is with meeting friends of the human variety; she is more than ready and willing with tons of kisses for all of her new two-legged friends. Thumbelina is an exceptionally awesome dog who we know would be the best pet for any family. If you're ready for a lifetime of fun, kisses and that eyebrow arching at you when there's no treats, apply to adopt Thumbelina here: https://goo.gl/EV9BYv (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-04-09-00401Ronin (male)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Deaf

Gorgeous Ronin was dropped off alongside Nook, our heartworm positive white shepherd. This boy is the product of double merle breeding - when an irresponsible breeder mates two merle dogs there a recessive condition emerges in a few pups that can result in hearing and/or vision impairments. Ronin is deaf, but he doesn't let that slow him down one bit. Ronin is a 1-2 year old happy boy that will need a fenced in yard so that he has a safe area to play. He will not be available until May. Please email barkingbackrescue@gmail.com for an app! Ronin is great with other dogs, but has NOT been cat or kid tested.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in New York
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in New York if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
