Rescue Me ID: 16-04-20-00324Brock (male)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Brock is a happy boy now that he doesn't have to live on a chain anymore. He is a 50 pound lab mix and is quickly learning to love the comforts of the indoors. Brock walks nicely on a leash. He appears to be house trained and is learning the manners of a indoor pet dog. He is a little eager to meet people and may jump, but as he is having more attention and exercise, this behavior is improving, as he is a smart boy. Brock loves to go for short bike rides and knew just to trot alongside the bike right away. He would be a good companion for someone that is active and wants a companion for hiking or outings. He is around 1 1/2 years old. Please ... (Read More)inquire about Brock for a devoted friend. He is a very friendly dog and gets along with kids and dogs. Rescue Me ID: 15-02-28-00382Crystal Light (female)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Crystal Light is 3 years old, playful and loving. She has a medium to high energy level and enjoys dog friends, but loves to be with people more. She weighs 45-50 pounds and has brown eyes. Crystal walks well on leash and knows some basic commands. Obedience training would be really good for her. She gets along with most other dogs her size and does well with smaller dogs. She would do fine with a large dog as long as he/she wasn't too rambunctious. I expect she would do well with cats, but I haven't seen her with cats. She would do great in a home with one other dog or a few smaller dogs. In my home Crystal Light is house trained and uses a ... (Read More)dog door. Siberian Husky    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Tuktu is a 4 year old male husky. He weighs 48 pounds and does well with most other dogs. As a young pup, he was pushed by another dog into a cactus bush and was impaled with a cactus in the sinus. The injury is fully healed but left him with a mild runny eye. It is not noticeable, but he may need to have his eyes dried more often than other dogs. Tuktu has a high pitched sound when playing also a result of the sinus injury. He has a tender tummy and requires a good diet and probiotics to help him build his good stomach bacteria. He cannot have milkbone treats. Tuktu does well with people and would do very well with obedience training. He ... (Read More)also enjoys playing with most of the other dogs here in his Alamogordo foster home.     Huskies were bred from dogs indigenous to the Siberian Arctic. Huskies were imported to Alaska during the Nome Gold Rush. Teams of Huskies were used during Gunnar Kaasen's 1925 run to deliver diphtheria vaccine to Nome. The last Siberian Huskies were exported from Siberia in 1930, after which the Soviet government closed the country's borders to outside trade.
