Mom was supposedly a Husky and dad a Bullmastiff-- accidental litter.. Well, a friend saw the post and shot me a pm on facebook if we knew of any rescues who could help.. Well, we said sure ... (Read More)we had the room.. Thank goodness she offered to foster as we are packed to the brim right now, but they were being sold super super way too young so what could we do?? They struggled for the first few nights in rescue-- their foster mom staying up all night with them administering sub-q fluids and trying to keep them fed and hydrated to pull them through.. All her hard work and sleepless nights though paid off as they are now doing great and have received their first vaccines. Temperament- Very sweet and outgoing. Pretty dominant personalities so adopter will have to make sure they do a lot of socializing and training with them.. Energy Level- Mickey is pretty laid back and enjoys sleeping more than anything and Minnie is very outgoing and follows her foster mom everywhere.. Dogs/Cats- Doing great with the other dogs and puppies in the foster home and being raised around cats.. Housetrained- Using puppy pads These babies are awesome.. Sooo sweet and playful and very loving.. They will make wonderful additions to any family wanting a beautiful sweet baby to add to their family.. If your child is not ready to handle the antics of a puppy or unable to understand how to treat a small puppy gently should wait until the child is ready and understand how delicate puppies are... Animal ID: 16-08-09-00703Happy (male)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Needs to be Neutered

Happy is just turning two and a half years and is always ready to play. He loves tug of war and also likes to play fetch although fetch can go both ways meaning chasing him to get it back. I have a boxer that Happy gets along with fine but can be a bit dominate when it comes to toys and food and needs to be the center of attention. His contact with cats has only been by sight. In my opinion he's better suited to a home with a yard or possibly regular dog park visits. He's not aggressive towards other dogs in my complex except one in particular because of it's aggressiveness towards every dog I've ever seen it encounter. He's never harmed or ... (Read More)bitten anyone or any other animals. He has tried jumping at birds but realized it was a lost cause. Happy is very affectionate and would do very well with someone active such as a jogger or who takes long walks. There might have to be a bit of training with a jogger since I have not tested this. He is very fond of anything that comes out of a package like a lot of dogs. If he deserves a treat I just say the word cookie and he's all over the place he's so excited. I don't want to drag this out so I'll end it here. My contact info is available. If there is any interest towards my boxer he is also available and will be posted shortly. I will attempt to post video but my dogs seem to know when they're being videoed. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in New Mexico
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in New Mexico if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
