Sierra is a sweet and energetic 3 year old Siberian Husky who was rescued after she was abandoned at a shelter to be euthanized when she was just 8 weeks old. She needed medical attention and, fortunately, the shelter contacted us and we were able to save her life. Sierra is extremely affectionate with people and especially with children and she loves being with her humans. She gets along very well with dogs her own size and larger but she's didn't do well with the small dogs in her adoptive home, which is the reason her family asked us to find a new home for her. Sierra has a sensitive digestive system but she has done very well on a low ... (Read More)fat prescription kibble that is comparably priced with quality commercial kibble. She's in excellent health and is house-trained and has even completed obedience and agility training. Sierra would do best with an experienced husky owner and will require a securely fenced yard. Sasha is bonded with Bigfoot, a 7 year old Rottweiler mix who weighs about 60 pounds. His owner passed away and Bigfoot is now in foster care with Sasha.     Togo is a 3 year old large male husky/ malamute mix. He is looking for a special owner that is husky-experienced and willing to provide training. Togo has some challenges with other dogs, and would do best as an only dog. He needs lots of exercise and a strong, active person to love. Siberian Husky    Age: Young Adult

Bear is a wonderful 1%BD year old husky that is house-trained and loves to be with people. He is great around other huskies and loves to run and play. When Bear first came to us, he was a bit withdrawn, but he has come out of his shell and is a wonderful husky. Bear would do well in a house that has a friendly, playful female as a buddy for him. He probably would be best suited to someone that has had previous husky experience, as he does like to test his human, a trait usually inherent in huskies. She is bursting to the seams with energy, always looking for a playmate and ready to run, swim, or hike. Despite her exuberance, Luna settles down quickly in the house and is potty trained and knows how to use the doggy door. Luna is fascinated by delicious smelling treats and willing to learn anything for them! Luna is a great snuggler and loves floppy stuffed toys (and is very respectful of them!). Like any puppy, Luna will need a family willing to teach her all the behaviors a good dog should know. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/arcticrescuesouthwest (Less)

Animal ID: 16-08-09-00703Happy (male)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Needs to be Neutered

Happy is just turning two and a half years and is always ready to play. He loves tug of war and also likes to play fetch although fetch can go both ways meaning chasing him to get it back. I have a boxer that Happy gets along with fine but can be a bit dominate when it comes to toys and food and needs to be the center of attention. His contact with cats has only been by sight. In my opinion he's better suited to a home with a yard or possibly regular dog park visits. He's not aggressive towards other dogs in my complex except one in particular because of it's aggressiveness towards every dog I've ever seen it encounter. He's never harmed or ... (Read More)bitten anyone or any other animals. He has tried jumping at birds but realized it was a lost cause. Happy is very affectionate and would do very well with someone active such as a jogger or who takes long walks. There might have to be a bit of training with a jogger since I have not tested this. He is very fond of anything that comes out of a package like a lot of dogs. If he deserves a treat I just say the word cookie and he's all over the place he's so excited. I don't want to drag this out so I'll end it here. My contact info is available. If there is any interest towards my boxer he is also available and will be posted shortly. I will attempt to post video but my dogs seem to know when they're being videoed. (Less)
