Rescue Me ID: 16-02-08-00764Rylee (female)

Siberian Husky    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Please read entire description! A little background - Rylee is a great family dog but is being put up for adoption because dad is deploying and mom lives in a small apartment and works 13-hour shifts. Rylee ends up spending a lot of time kenneled, and she deserves a family who has the time, space, and energy to give her the happy life she deserves! Rylee is an energetic 2-year-old wooly Siberian Husky. She weighs about 45 lb and has fluffy black and white hair and beautiful white/blue eyes. She has a lot of energy and loves to run, wrestle, and play tug of war. Rylee is house trained and kennel trained but could use some work on leash ... (Read More)behavior as well as basic obedience and house manners. Rylee is a loving and loyal family dog. She does well with most other dogs but is somewhat dominant, so she would likely not do well with another dominant female. She has never been around cats. She is good with kids but has a lot of energy, so caution should be used with small children who may be knocked over easily. Rylee, like most Huskies, does not like being left alone, so she would do great with a family who can spend a lot of time with her, or with a doggie buddy she can play with. She loves to run so a yard is a must. Rylee is up to date with all vaccinations, she is microchipped, and is in very good health, but has not been spayed. She comes with bed, kennel, dishes, food, leash, brush, and toys. Price is $400, originally paid $1000. Most of all, we want her to go to a great home with a family who will love her and care for her. Price is negotiable, loving home is not. Over all, Rylee is a very happy, playful dog who would love to go home with a great forever family. (Less)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Please read the entire bio before contacting us with questions. Send us an email requesting an application to start the adoption process-- adopt@q.com AND adopt@netzero.com Visit our main website www.almosthomenm.org Follow us on Facebook Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/pages/Almost-Home-New-Mexico/203840136304815 Approximate DOB 09/01/2011 Size Large (55-60 lb) Update 02/06/2016- She had been adopted back in 2012 but was recently picked up as a stray severely malnourished.. We made every effort to contact the adopter to see what had happened with no response.. So we went and picked her up and brought her back to the rescue to ... (Read More)try and find her happily ever after for sure this time.. She is still the perfect, happy, and playful girl we adopted out.. Original/ /History- This beautiful girl was picked up by one of our wonderful adopters/volunteers after they almost hit her when she ran into the road they were driving on.. She was running in and out of traffic- luckily for her they stopped and picked her up. She was reported to the shelter and held for the required hold however nobody reclaimed or even called the shelter asking if she had been picked up. They called us to see if we could put her through our program and we said yes.. Recently for her vet check though we found her brown eye is very large and when tested had no vision in it- possible trauma to the head. Due to the swelling our vet said she is probably in pain so we removed the eye on Tues Dec 18th and she healed up great.. Now she looks like she is winking all the time.. She is happy and smart and just a great girl who is so eager to please.. Temperament- Very sweet-- loves attention and going for walks.. Energy Level- Medium higher level energy-- would be a great jogging or hiking partner, but will also do great just hanging out with her loved one.. Dogs/Cats- She seems to be good with other dogs and even does well with the cats.. Housetrained- House and crate trained perfectly.. Sandy is an amazing girl full of potential.. Her foster family has taught her a few basic commands and takes her for walks nightly.. She loves her walks and the attention and love she has been getting.. Whoever adopts her will be getting a gem.. She is wonderful -- even loved my 1 year old grand daughter.. Followed her around and would just kiss her softly.. Please be aware Sandy does need a home with a 6 ft fence, an underground containment system, or a hot wire that goes along the perimeter of the fence to keep her away from it so she can not jump it (we use a small animal kit $35 +/- a foot away from the fence and a foot high)--other than that she is a perfect girl.. Adoption fee $200 includes spay, rabies vaccine, age appropriate vaccinations, deworming, microchip, heartworm test, eye removal, collar and tags, training information, and all the support you need.     Please read the entire bio before contacting us with questions. Send us an email requesting an application to start the adoption process-- adopt@q.com AND adopt@netzero.com Visit our main website www.almosthomenm.org Follow us on Facebook Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/pages/Almost-Home-New-Mexico/203840136304815 Approximate DOB 12/06/2015 Size - We believe these will be medium to large dogs as adults. History- Mom (Sasha-a blue eye Siberian Husky) was a stray picked up by a local shelter and left unclaimed. She eventually ran out of time and they started running out of space and a plea was sent out to the rescue community.. Once ... (Read More)it was determined she was about to give birth another plea went out begging for her rescue - they didn't want to do the inevitable just for space.. We saw her face and thought long and hard if we could do a momma and then an emergency urgent plea went out.. That night the babies were born meaning something, nobody with that job, wants to ever be forced to do. The shelter she was at offered everything possible to get her out of there and into some place safe. We let them know we could do it if a foster was found that could keep them safe and warm for 2 weeks.. A friend of one of the gals said yes he would take care of them -- a sigh of relief -- we accepted her and her small family into our rescue. Arrangements were made and the shelter volunteers drove them up.. Momma was sick though-- she was throwing up and had severe diarrhea.. We soon transferred them to the main property-- closer to our vet. We started her on medications and supplements that we use for our victims of starvation-- then we gave her time.. We watched her - we spent lots of time just watching her and marking any changes.. The babies are now old enough to be away from mom- and she is finally gaining weight-- her system has finally adjusted and she is getting stronger and healthier every day.. The babies are all big, healthy babies full of energy and love. Temperament- This little boy loves to play and is very brave.. He is one of our most dominant babies in this group and will even go play tug with the big dogs.. Energy Level- Typical high energy babies who will need lots of training to be the best they can be.. Dogs/Cats- Gets along with all the other dogs and cats. Housetrained- Currently using a litter box and potty pads but have started going outside as well and hoping we can get them using the dog door consistently. These sweet, beautiful babies will make amazing additions to any family.. They love everyone they meet and just want love and attention. This sweet boy is black and tan.. He is super loving and will love to have someone of his own to cuddle with.. He loves toys, pets, and cuddles.. He can be a bully with his siblings but also the first one to explore the different parts of the yard and grab new toys to play with... Please remember puppies are very hyper and have sharp nails and teeth and can easily hurt a small child accidentally. Please keep that in mind when looking at puppies for children- both child and puppy need training to co-exist without someone getting hurt or being scared. If you are not willing to train both or your child is extra sensitive and can't handle a puppy being a puppy you might want to consider a gentle adult dog who is trained to be gentle around children.. Adoption fee $250 includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations (4 for puppies), deworming, microchip, rabies vacc, collar and tags, training information, and all the support you need.     Please read the entire bio before contacting us with questions. Send us an email requesting an application to start the adoption process-- adopt@q.com AND adopt@netzero.com Visit our main website www.almosthomenm.org Follow us on Facebook Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/pages/Almost-Home-New-Mexico/203840136304815 Approximate DOB 12/06/2015 Size - We believe these will be large dogs as adults. Well except the tiny black one might be medium size dog. History- Mom (Sasha) was a stray picked up by a local shelter and left unclaimed. She eventually ran out of time and they started running out of space and a plea was sent out to the ... (Read More)rescue community with no availability.. Once it was determined she was about to give birth another plea went out begging for her rescue - they didn't want to do the inevitable just for space.. We saw her face and thought long and hard if we could do a momma and then an emergency urgent plea went out that night the babies were here meaning something nobody with that job wants to ever be forced to do. Momma was sick though-- she was throwing up.. We soon transferred them to the main property-- closer to our vet. We started her on medications and supplements that we use for our victims of starvation-- then we gave her time.. We watched her - we spent lots of time just watching her and marking any changes.. The babies are now 6 weeks old and she is finally gaining weight-- her system has finally adjusted and she is getting stronger and healthier every day.. The babies are all big healthy babies full of energy and love. Temperament- These babies are all very outgoing and playful.. We have some that are super playful and others more serious and yet others who just want us to baby them.. We will be posting their individual bios tomorrow.. We have 2 black and tan pups, 3 black pups, and 2 reddish brown and tan.. Send us an e-mail to adopt@q.com requesting an application to adopt this sweetie!! Animals are seen by appointment only. An application must be submitted to us prior to making an appointment.     Hi! My name is Chamisa and I am a one year old husky. I'm a sweet, friendly girl and I love making human and doggie friends. I have lots of energy, but I'm well behaved inside the house and I'm potty trained and crate trained. I like to goof around with my canine foster sister, so if my new home has another doggie for me to play with, that would make me an extra happy pup. I had a rough start in life and I was rescued from an overcrowded rural shelter, but now I'm in foster care with the nice people at Siberian Husky Rescue of New Mexico. If you are interested in being my new family, you need to know that I am heartworm positive and I am ... (Read More)receiving treatment that will need to be continued until I'm healthy. PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in New Mexico
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in New Mexico if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
