I am a female siberian and won't be ready for my new home for 9 more weeks. At that time I will be spayed and current on my vaccinations. I can't be around any small animals due to my prey drive also I can't be trusted off leash or I will run away. I would be best in a home with no other female dogs. Siberian husky knowledge is a must in wanting to adopt me I need plenty of walks or jogs each day and also need a lot of bones to chew on or I will destroy furniture My adoption fee is 700 but can be negotiable to ensure I go to the right forever family.

Siberian Husky    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

I am looking for a new home in a cooler climate for my Husky, Arthas. He's a sweet dog, who has lived with us for 4 years now, but being here in Las Vegas, the summers are just torture on him. He loves being outside in the winter, but even now, he can hardly stand the 85 degrees outside! He is neutered. He does very well with other dogs. We had a small pekingese and he was really good with him and he always does well at the dog park. His first year he was living with a couple who had him in a cage all day. They would come home, let him out for a couple of hours, then cage him the rest of the night. I dogsat for them once and took him home ... (Read More)because I couldn't listen to him cry when I left their house from feeding him. They got home and saw the bond my family had with him and asked if we wanted to keep him. I need to tell you that he needs to go to the vet, he's developed some cloudiness/blood spots in his eyes. He can see perfectly fine, it just looks weird. My husband just got out of a two week stay in the hospital and I have not taken Arthas to the vet yet and unfortunately, because of work and home care for my husband I don't know when I can.He is very good with cats, he has 5 of them to live with, and is very gentle with our 6 month old grand-daughter. We usually keep him in the house when it gets warmer, but my husband just suffered from a quick, devastating illness that left him blind. Arthas adores him and gets very excited when he comes in a room and so it's really dangerous to have him in the room. Our plan was to move to a cooler climate next year, so the heat wasn't going to be much of an issue, but with my husband's health issues, we are going to stay put for a while. I'd like someone who has a yard for him to have room to run...ours is desert landscaping, so he doesn't have much now. Please contact me if you are interested in making him a part of your family. You'll be taking on a big commitment, but with big rewards. ADOPTION FEE NEGOTIABLE/WAIVED TO LOVING HOME (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Nevada
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Nevada if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
