Rescue Me ID: 16-02-09-00248Tanner (male)
WE DO NOT ADOPT OUTSIDE A 2-3 HOUR RADIUS OF KANSAS CITY, IF YOU ARE INTERESTED YOU NEED TO COMPLETE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION AT www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog Approx. DOB: 10/2005, Approx. Weight: 86 lbs. $100 adoption fee includes a 2 week trial. Tanner was adopted over 8 years ago and recently returned when his owner went into a nursing home. So sad for him and her. He was greatly loved and spoiled rotten. Tanner is still a very strong dog and pulls on his leash when going for walks.....we have a no pull leash that we will include with his adoption that works wonderfully in keeping him from pulling so much when going for a walk. He is very active and agile even being senior age. Tanner might be a little shy when first meeting him but it only takes minutes to get through that initial reaction with a few sweet words and petting his soft coat.....he really enjoys the sweet talk & being petted. Tanner might be too much for children under the age of 10 years.....just because he is so large & still energetic and tends to plow you over. He gets very exuberant when playing. Tanner enjoys going for car rides and walks around the neighborhood. He is very loyal and protective of his family so you will feel very safe with him around. Just give this senior boy a chance to enrich your life with his love. Thank you for your interest in Tanner. Tanner has been neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, wormed and microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Tanner, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible. |Rescue Me ID: 16-01-29-00489Niko (male)|
Need a good home for our beloved Niko. Now that I am a single father raising 3-daughters by myself, I Sadly no longer have the time to spend with him or the yard space for him to have a place to run. He is a beautiful black & white Siberian Husky with one blue eye & one brown. Large male with lots of energy. Housebroke & good with people and he even tries to talk to you. Used to being inside, but needs a large fenced yard or countryside to run. Work days, leave msg.

Rescue Me ID: 16-01-05-00743Mac (male)
Mac is a very protective dog of his owners and home. He is only aggressive to people or animals in his yard or in what he considers his territory. He is very loving to us and my 12 yr old son. He had bitten. Once when a 7 yr old entered our home unannounced and once when my son was scared of other boys and Mac sensed it and bit one of them once. This last time there was no justification and this is my last option before he is put to sleep. If you dont have kids and have land or live in the country he would be good for you.

Rescue Me ID: 15-11-26-00217Sugar (female)
Sugar is an adorable 3 y.o. Husky mix; she is affectionate and LOVES lots of fresh air and exercise! Sugar responds well to male attention and would be happiest in a household with teens and adults. She is very compatible with our 14 y.o. male Chow mix; unreliable with felines. Sugar hails from Santa Fe and has called St. Louis her home for 2 1/2 years. She has been in the same family since puppyhood. Demands of new babies in the family make it a challenge to give Sugar the daily walks and attention she deserves.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Missouri
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Missouri if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
