Rescue Me ID: 15-01-22-00088Lily (female)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Needs Vaccinations

This is Lily, she is a spayed Siberian Husky/mix (possible GSD?) that turned 4 yrs old November 1 of last year. I am needing to find her a new home due to my work and school schedule. She is an inside dog, housebroken, good with kids and adults (although favors adult males). If she is going to be kept outside, she will need to have a (tall) fenced in yard, although trying to convince her that she is an outside dog will be very difficult. She is trained to sit, shake, high five, sit pretty, and lay down. She is a very loving dog. She will come with her large metal kennel as she sleeps in it at night. This is something she likes to do, ... (Read More)although she can be left out during the night with no issues. She does not bark very often, although vocal when it comes to howling when she want something (neighbors have never complained). Some things she is not so good at is walking without a leash and staying by your side as she thinks she is free and will take off, she also does not like to have her nails clipped and will require a muzzle (will provide). Currently when she goes outside to do her business, she goes out on a cable (my yard is not fenced in). So I would rather her go to someone who has a fenced in yard so she can run. Small adoption fee to ensure a loving home with someone who can take care of her. I adopted her October 31, 2011 and her prior owner is said to have abused her, although I cannot confirm that, just something I was told. (Less)

Animal ID: Rabies ID#: 27586Odin (male)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Very High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Odin is a 13 month old Beagle-Siberian Husky mix. He is a chocolate/tan color with the blue Siberian husky eyes. He is a high energy dog that will need some training and socialization skills. He is not good with kids or cats. If you have a big back yard or live in the country where he can run some of his energy off that would be perfect. He loves running, cuddling and being with you at all times. He has separation anxiety issues but has been getting better at them. We live in an apartment and due to some noise complaints from neighbors we must find a new home for our puppy. Odin has been vetted by Dr. Jeffrey Schlager with Gladstone ... (Read More)Animal Clinic, Gladstone MO. Phone# 816-436-1100. We are urgently needing to find a new home for Odin as my husband, now a Marine Vet, is home recuperating from severe leg injuries and ptsd and us living in an apartment is unfortunately not a good situation for either Odin or my husband. We are reaching out to anyone who can rescue our Odinbear and give him a proper home with lots of love and run time. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-01-04-00082Mya (female)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Mya is a beautiful, healthy, three-year-old Aluskie (her mother was a pure bred Huskie and her father was a pure bred Alaskan Malamute). We are sad to give her up, but we are senior adults with health issues that make it impossible to keep her. She has a sweet disposition and is very smart. We want her to go to a good home.

Hi, I'm Arnie. I'm a very friendly dog just looking to have a good time. I've been diagnosed with Cushing's Disease which is chronic and requires medication for the rest of my life. I'm happiest outside and I don't like cats so I need a home with no small pets and a fenced yard where I can spend lots of time outside. I know there must be someplace that's right for me and I'm hoping every day that the person who can help me will rescue me soon. Can you be that person? Those adopting Arnie can get his medication from Angel's Vet at our cost.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Missouri
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Missouri if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
