Rescue Me ID: 17-06-20-00442Nanook (female)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adult Women Only
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

I sadly need to rehome my husky mix. I have terminal cancer and want to find her a good home before I get to ill. She is an indoor girl who is 8 years old and I would do best with a single woman or someone with older children. She does ok with men unless they raise their voice and she feels threatened by them, then she goes into defense mode. I've been told by a dog trainer that she has the actions of a border collie so if you are familiar with that breed it would be a huge plus on how to handle her ways. Serious inquiries only!!! Adoption fee may be negotiated as I see fit.

He is good with adults and children and has never bitten anyone. We have a Black lab that he plays with, however can occupationally play rough with each other so we recommend no small pets. He is very high energy and loves to run and play. He gets along with other dogs however he can be aggressive. Just looking for a loving and caring home for him to live a happy life in. Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Sierra is a beautiful, blue eyed, luscious white coated, 2-3 years old Pyrenees/Husky mix. She is a gentle and sweet girl. Sierra is crate trained, sits for treats, and walks well on a leash. She likes walks, being outside, and playing with tennis balls. She loves to be center of attention! She gets along with other dogs, but being the attention hog she is - that along with not being fond of sharing food or toys with other canine pals - Sierra would also make a good candidate for being the only dog in her new home. A cat free home would also be best. At 75 lbs. Sierra would love a nice big yard to play in. One with a physical fence is ... (Read More)best. If you think this beautiful dog could be a match for you, please send an inquiry today! Sierra is fully vetted and microchipped. (Less)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi! My name is Cheveyo. I am a 3.5 year old husky mix. I have lots of energy but mind well. I know how to sit, wait and stay. I am very intelligent. I am house and crate trained. I love toys, and I am very playful. When I first meet people I like to try to act like the boss, so I need someone that will put me in my place right away. I would love to go to a home with someone that has husky knowledge and that will keep up on my training and show me new things to learn. I would do best in a home without very young kids only because I may jump on them and accidentally knock them down. I am up to date on all vaccines, neutered, treated for ... (Read More)fleas and heartworm negative. I will also be chipped before leaving rescue. I should go to a home with a high wooden fence. I can and will climb even very tall wire fences. I do quite well on a least requiring minimal corrections. I do not do so well with small animals but I do wonderful with other dogs my size or bigger. NO CATS, I hate them! I would love to have a home with another energetic dog! If you want an awesome boy, that's me!! (a foster home would be considered!!) (Less)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

I am a 3.5 year old husky/lab mix. I love other dogs of all sizes. I love kids and all people and am kennel and house trained. I should not be placed in a home with cats as I don't like them at all. I am very sweet and gentle. I weigh 58.9 pounds. I like to go on runs, walks and I like car rides! I know how to sit, stay, wait and if you place a treat on my paw I'll wait for you to remove it and offer it to me before I take it. Aren't I a good boy? I also walk well on a leash with minimal corrections. The husky in me though means that if I get off leash or out of a fenced area I will run and not come back. Oh I love to RUN! I have ... (Read More)also been known to dart out doors too so you have to watch me real closely. I have what they call separation anxiety so I have to be kenneled when I'm left home alone. A 6 ft. wood or chain fence would be perfect for me. Please consider me! Fill out an adoption application here www.fewstepsfromhome.com (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Michigan
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Michigan if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
