Rescue Me ID: 17-01-09-00329Tessa (female)

Siberian Husky    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Tessa is a very sweet, loving girl. I have owned her since she was 10 weeks old. She is good with children, adults and most dogs. She loves long walks and car rides. However, like all huskies, she cannot be trusted off a leash. She had escaped many times from us and has killed our chickens and the neighbors chickens. I have promised the neighbor that I would find a new home for my sweetheart!

Rescue Me ID: 17-01-01-00274Woofers (male)

Siberian Husky    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Woofers came to us after being abandoned, without food, water or shelter. Woofers is about 7 yrs old. He is housebroken and has a great attitude! His front leg - near as the vet could figure without x-rays - was very badly damaged at the elbow. While this will always affect his gate, it should present no real problems. There is some arthritis involved. Woofers gets along with other dogs. He really likes people (the vet and techs thought he was really special and sweet natured). He is very good with children. Due to a history of kidney stones Woofers needs to always be on a special diet. Please contact Few Steps From Home Animal ... (Read More)Rescue if you think you could give Woofers a great new home. Siberian Husky    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

I'm in Petoskey MI. I'm trying to place a 15 month old Siberian Husky male. My son got Kai as 2 month old puppy (against my advice) from a breeder in North Carolina. Kai has been with me, at my Petoskey home since May. Kai is a beautiful, sweet, energetic, well behaved companion. He is in excellent health, has had all required shots, and was neutered in October of 2016. He is usually very good around other dogs. I don't have much experience with him around cats. Kai has challenged me over stolen food, or prey found in the yard. For this reason, I would not want Kai to be placed in a home with small children. Kai is trained to stay ... (Read More)in my yard with Invisible Fence, and I would want him to have the same freedom (or a large fenced yard). While I would like to place Kai as soon as possible, this is not a 'crisis situation' by any means. The most important thing to me is to find him a home where he will be well cared for and have a great quality of life. Feel free to contact me by phone (please leave a message), text, or email. Rescue Me ID: 16-10-26-00571Rigby (female)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Blind

Rigby is an 11-1/2 year old female dog. Very low energy at this stage. She was recently diagnosed with cataracts, so her sight is failing. I work full-time and she is now kept in a smaller portion of my house, both at night and during the day while I'm gone. This is due to her wandering around the house and possibility of getting locked in rooms or falling down the stairs. An ideal owner would be someone that is home quite a bit during the day and evening. Maybe someone retired.

Good with our kids and our small dog. But does not get along with our other adult male dog. Does growl at unknown people sometimes. Has never but or attacked anyone. Kept outside as he fights with other dog and will pee in home as a dominance show. We do not have time to work with him in behaviors. Likes attention and to go for walks. Very playful.

He is a very sweet boy that is eager to please and loves to snuggle up on your lap or play with a squeaky tennis ball. He is great with other dogs, both male and female, but does not do well with small dogs. He has some separation anxiety and is working on crate training. Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi! My name is Cheveyo. I am a 3.5 year old husky mix. I have lots of energy but mind well. I know how to sit, wait and stay. I am very intelligent. I am house and crate trained. I love toys, and I am very playful. When I first meet people I like to try to act like the boss, so I need someone that will put me in my place right away. I would love to go to a home with someone that has husky knowledge and that will keep up on my training and show me new things to learn. I would do best in a home without very young kids only because I may jump on them and accidentally knock them down. I am up to date on all vaccines, neutered, treated for ... (Read More)fleas and heartworm negative. I will also be chipped before leaving rescue. I should go to a home with a high wooden fence. I can and will climb even very tall wire fences. I do quite well on a least requiring minimal corrections. I do not do so well with small animals but I do wonderful with other dogs my size or bigger. NO CATS, I hate them! I would love to have a home with another energetic dog! If you want an awesome boy, that's me!! (a foster home would be considered!!) (Less)

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

I am a 3.5 year old husky/lab mix. I love other dogs of all sizes. I love kids and all people and am kennel and house trained. I should not be placed in a home with cats as I don't like them at all. I am very sweet and gentle. I weigh 58.9 pounds. I like to go on runs, walks and I like car rides! I know how to sit, stay, wait and if you place a treat on my paw I'll wait for you to remove it and offer it to me before I take it. Aren't I a good boy? I also walk well on a leash with minimal corrections. The husky in me though means that if I get off leash or out of a fenced area I will run and not come back. Oh I love to RUN! I have ... (Read More)also been known to dart out doors too so you have to watch me real closely. I have what they call separation anxiety so I have to be kenneled when I'm left home alone. A 6 ft. wood or chain fence would be perfect for me. Please consider me! Fill out an adoption application here www.fewstepsfromhome.com (Less)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Very High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hello there! My name is Max. I have a bit of a sad story. My mommy had to give me up because I nipped at someone and bit another. It wasn't a bad bite but enough for mommy to say she was going to have to put me down. One of her friends heard about this and contacted this rescue asking for help. They thankfully saved my life. They accepted me into their program. I am a great boy once I get to know someone. I am leery of new people, especially men, but once I get to know and trust them, I'm fine. I am approximately 3.5 years old. I am a German shepherd/husky mix. I do well with most dogs but small dogs and kitties and me do not mix. Blame ... (Read More)that on the husky side of me! I am playful and love to sit and cuddle. I know how to sit, lay down, shake, stay....so as you can see I am very very smart. When you say "go home", I know exactly what to do. That means go into my kennel. I always like to take one of my toys from my kennel with me when I go outside. I should probably be placed in a home with kids 15 years or older only. I need a stable home with mature owners. I ride wonderfully in the car and get very excited for car rides. I love to go for walks and walk wonderful on the leash. I should go to a home with a 6 foot high fenced in yard. I am a bigger boy who likes to roam and explore. So if you are experienced with a dog like me and can work on more training with me then I would LOVE to meet you! Love always, Max. (a foster home would be considered!!) (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Michigan
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Michigan if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
