Rescue Me ID: 15-07-27-00749Nadia (female)

Siberian Husky    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Nadia is an absolute sweetheart! She is great with children of all stages and loves to play with other dogs. She was surrendered due to seperation anxiotey issues and will require a home with a family that has someone home most of the time, and another dog to keep her company when noone is home. She can scale fences quite easily, so a yard with a high fence or a home far from high traffic are ideal for her, although it is not nessessarily required. She will only try to escape the yard if she is left outside all alone. Another dog in the yard with her will make her lose interst in exploring outside her boundries. Nadia is 2 yrs old and is to ...     Thomas is 6 years old, born 3/17/09. He loves to play with other dogs. He mainly lounges all day but has a goofy side. He's low maintenance and laid back. He is 3/4's Husky and definitely has Husky behavioral traits. I've had Thomas since he was 8 weeks old. He's great with adults and older children, but I don't trust him with my toddler. She makes him nervous and he becomes skittish around her. We are also moving to Hawaii, and I do not want to put him through the 120 day required quarantine. He is a great dog. He loves to go on walks. I hope to find a family who will exercise him on a regular basis and possibly has another dog to be ... (Read More)his friend. (Less)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Omni is a one of a kind husky. He really would prefer just to sit by you wherever you are. He doesn't mind playing but he just really likes people. He likes to be brushed and pet for as long as you will do it. He also really enjoys going on car rides. He will need a leader because he can be stubborn. We do know that he can be a runner. He tends to see something and want to go investigate it, so we will be looking for home that has a secure way to contain him. If it's by fence- it must be higher than a standard fence due to being able to jump it. Also because he loves to be around people so much, and is very unhappy when he cannot be, we will ... Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Saber's story is one we hear far too often, a senior dog left scared and alone at the pound by his family. At nearly 10 years old, the pound is no place for a dog like Saber. But don't let his age fool you, this guy is still very much full of life! Saber has a super sweet demeanor and does well with other dogs. Can you find it in your heart to open your home to this deserving guy? Let's get this adorable face out of the rescue and into a loving home where he belongs! Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Aggressive

Frost is a sweet dog that we rescued 18 months ago. He does have allergies, and must be fed Science Diet z/d (prescription). His skin is very red/itchy. He also needs to be shampooed with clorhexidine (4%) every 2 weeks. He is worth all the trouble! Our problem is that because he is a rescue, he is possessive with his food and has bit our child trying to protect his food. He loves to be petted! Walked and loved. We will deliver him anywhere in Michigan.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Michigan
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Michigan if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
