Animal ID: 313Duke (male)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Duke is a big puppy. He is around 19 months old as of June. Duke was possibly abused in his previous home. He was very skiddish when surrendered to us, and would flinch everytime anything touched him. It didn't matter if it was a brush, a person, a dog toy, anything. He is doing much better now, giving and receiving affection. Duke is good with other dogs, as long as they are over 20 pounds. He does have a huge prey drive, including small dogs, but he's never been around cats. He does eat chickens if he catches them. Duke is crate trained, learning leash training, and housebroken. He also knows commands such as sit, come, and lay. Duke is ... (Read More)heartworm negative, neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, and treated with flea preventative. He is crate trained and working on potty training. His adoption fee is $200. If you are interested in adopting Duke, please fill out our adoption application at http://kreacherkonnections.org/adoption-form/ Thank you. http://kreacherkonnections.org (Less)

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Saber's story is one we hear far too often, a senior dog left scared and alone at the pound by his family. At nearly 10 years old, the pound is no place for a dog like Saber. But don't let his age fool you, this guy is still very much full of life! Saber has a super sweet demeanor and does well with other dogs. Can you find it in your heart to open your home to this deserving guy? Let's get this adorable face out of the rescue and into a loving home where he belongs! Wild Dog Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that relies on donations for the continued care of the animals. The rescue is located at 2525 Blue Star Highway Fennville, ... Rescue Me ID: 15-06-07-00215Frost (male)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Aggressive

Frost is a sweet dog that we rescued 18 months ago. He does have allergies, and must be fed Science Diet z/d (prescription). His skin is very red/itchy. He also needs to be shampooed with clorhexidine (4%) every 2 weeks. He is worth all the trouble! Our problem is that because he is a rescue, he is possessive with his food and has bit our child trying to protect his food. He loves to be petted! Walked and loved. We will deliver him anywhere in Michigan.

Rescue Me ID: 15-06-01-00449Hula - IN TRAINING (male)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

If you are an active family and enjoy doing agility, I'm the girl for you! My name is Hula and I'm a 1 year old Husky mix that will be paroled from the RPSM Correctional Companion Program in Coldwater, MI on August 14th where I have been learning my basic commands. Lately I have been working on my heeling, eye contact and recall. I know my Place command and will stay there until released with the command OK. I have been walking 3.5 miles a day and have learned where I'm supposed to walk without pulling. I'm a very mild tempered girl and LOVE to socialize when people walk up to me, pet me, and show affection. I really enjoy playing with other ... (Read More)dogs that like to play and be active. I enjoy the water so much that I will lie down in the pool. My crate training is going very well; I have no problems with it. I can be too much for young kids or elderly dogs so a home with children 8 years and older would be best. My previous owners surrendered me to the animal shelter because I don't do so well with small farm animals so probably best that there are no cats in my new home. My lucky adopter will receive an operator's manual so we can continue to enjoy and practice the great training I have been receiving. I'm spayed and UTD on all my vaccines, HW, FT, and have a microchip of my own. RPSM recommends children 8 years and older and NO CATS. I will require a physical fence because of my prey drive. If you are interested in adopting me, please go to www.rpsm.org to fill out an application. My adoption fee is $250. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-05-12-00098Niko (male)

Siberian Husky    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

:Niko is a 3-4 year old Siberian Husky who unfortunately we need to find a new home. We have had Niko since September 2014, and since then my daughters allergies have been out of control. We recently found out that she is allergic, and have been using meds consistantly, but they are not working. Despite the circumstances, we will take our time finding him the right home, we are not going to rush this process. We want to make sure he is going to a family who is going to be his perfect match, and will be his last home. We will require vet references, and adoption fee of $300. Niko is UTD on shots, neutered, and is microchipped. Because of his ... (Read More)breed, he will need lots of exercise! For the most part he is laid back and kind of lazy! He loves to play with kids ( we have 4). We recommend him going to a no pet home, as he gets jealous of his owners giving attention to other pets. If interested, and feel like you would be a good fit for Niko, please contact me. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-02-20-00114Zeus (male)

Siberian Husky    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Zeus is a sweet and loving dog. He needs affection and playing and plenty of exercise. He is excellent on a treadmill and does well on a leash too. He'd love to pull you on a sled through the snow!! He loves dashing around in the snow and showing how fast he can run! He also loves playing in the water. Zeus enjoys doggy training and learning new tricks, especially when there are treats involved! There are no known problems with Zeus. We have three small children and unfortunately do not have the time to devote to this loving dog who deserves plenty of attention. While Zeus is loving and interested in small children, he has a tendency to ... (Read More)mindlessly run past them or pounce on them which can lead to injury, and he also likes to jump up when he is excited which can easily knock down a small child. With his energy level and independent nature he may do best in a home with older children (12+) and he would do especially well in a home with a male master and other large dogs to play with. It is also highly preferable that Zeus go to a home with 6 foot fence around a large yard in which he can play freely. To ensure that Zeus is going to a good home, I will need to meet the family and see pictures of the home that Zeus will be going to. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Michigan
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Michigan if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
