Roxy Rose's Story'| Roxy is a happy, loving, intelligent, loves toys and playing with her foster buddies. She is not aggressive to adults, children or other dogs in any manner. She adjusts to new situations (ie new home, etc.) easily. Roxy likes to wander (Husky breed trait) and can jump over a regular height fence so she will need training and an experienced husky handler. She is a beautiful young girl ... (Read More)who needs an active family who will spend time with her (she is very social) and will help her work off some of her energy. She is not hyper, she just needs room to run and play, as most young ones do! (Less)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

We've had Django with us since he was a puppy, but now with three small children and a new house with a small yard, he's not being given enough attention. He was fostered with a family with another dog and a large yard for the past 1 1/2 years. He's been depressed since coming back to live with us and would like company or more space to run in. He's ok with kids. He's well behaved and fairly well trained. He's a very handsome dog who is in great shape. Fees may be waived for the right adopter.

Rescue Me ID: 14-06-11-00374Medea (female)

Siberian Husky    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Medea is a beautiful, six year Siberian Husky. She loves running, walking, swimming, taking naps on the couch. She has been a family member for six years. We are giving her up because we have young children and she bit our daughter. We believe that she would do very well in a home with adults only where she gets daily walks. Having a runner as an owner would be excellent for her, as she loves to run. She deserves a second chance. She is a very good dog, but we cannot keep her.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Michigan
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Michigan if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
