|Rescue Me ID: 16-02-08-00394Tasha (female)|
Tasha is about a 4-5 yr old Husky looking for her forever home. She is utd on shots and spayed, the only thing we didn't do for her which we'd like to be done by her new owners, is to be microchipped. Our adoption fees are usually $250 but with her not getting that done yet we will take off $30 if the new owners get that done with proof sent back to us. She's ok with some dogs but tends to be the dominant female, so would love a home without other dogs or cats. She has been around children as well. She is a very sweet girl and has a very loving and gentle disposition. She's housebroke and crate trained but we're not sure how she is off leash. Her adoption fee is $220 with an approved application. Please contact me for more info/pics or if you'd like an adoption application to fill out and/or set up a meet and greet. (Less)

She is about a 5yrs old. She was their regular lead dog. She is shy and scared like the rest but friendly and will come for love and attention. She is sooooo cute!! great with other dogs, kids...dont know about cats. Potty and crate trained. She's a food stasher lol and clothes hoarder smile emoticon. She will protect the stash in her crate by giving out high pitched 'chirps' to let the know to stay away, lol. She's going to make a killer addition to someones family. She will need someone who is willing to go the extra mile, figuratively and literally, with her exercise. She has been a lead dog for most of her life and thrives being exercised regularly. What a great bikejoring partner she will be!! Chica is spayed, microchipped, UTD on shots, dewormed and on prevent. Application, Home visit, Contract and $300 adoption fee apply. He was a mess and super stinky. His coat is in need of some good nutrition for sure. Hes underweight under all that fluff. He's a little shy but warms up quick. Good in the crate and potty trained. He is a mellow fellow, gentle and sweet. Phoenix is neutered, microchipped, UTD on shots, dewormed and on prevent. |Rescue Me ID: 16-01-16-00058Vladimir (Vladdie) (male)|
Vladimir is a 3 year old Siberian husky. We took him in at 6 months. He was found in a bad neighborhood and was abused. He can be very sweet but becomes unhappy, hyper, and mean if he does not get the proper exercise. He needs an owner who has the time to train him properly without children. He can nip and has issues with food. He is full of life. Loves long walks, the snow and playing. I cannot stress enough that he needs constant excercise. If not he becomes resentful. He is a VERY smart dog. It can be a constant struggle for dominance with him. Also, he needs a fenced in yard because husky's love to run or plenty of acreage. He is a good one on one companion dog or even a couple that is VERY active. They must have patience and time to train him. I CANNOT stress that enough. I think with the right person and setting he could flourish. I would also prefer that who ever is interested in him to have knowledge about his breed and arctic dogs. We want him to have a better life. He's not working out with us because we have young children and I do not trust him around them. We also do not have the time to properly train him and I want him to live a better life. Feel free to ask me any questions. We do have two cats and a 3 pound Pomeranian that he gets along with great! |Rescue Me ID: 16-01-06-00125Lizzie (female)|
This is Lizzie. I have had her for 4 years now and she is overall a good dog. She enjoys playing tug of war sometimes, but mostly she enjoys laying around, and relaxing. We found out she doesn't like children, and that is our main reason for wanting to give her to a different home. We have grandchildren, and don't want to have to worry about how she will act around them. Please consider adopting her soon, otherwise we may have to take her to the humane society. Thank you!

Playful, friendly dog with a lot of energy in need of a home with a fenced yard, preferably a 5-6 foot fence. Dog can be temperamental with young kids, so we prefer he go to a home with no young children. Dog has chicken allergies and needs specific food. He is microchipped and has his purebred papers. He is 4 1/2 years old.

|Rescue Me ID: 15-11-27-00481Chevayo (male)|
Hi! My name is Cheveyo. I am a 2 year old husky mix. I have lots of energy but mind well. I know how to sit and stay. I am very intelligent. I am house and crate trained as well. I love toys, and I am very playful. When I first meet people I like to try to act like the boss, so I need someone who will put me in my place right away. I would love to go to a home with someone that has husky knowledge and who will keep up on my training and show me new things to learn. I would do best in a home without very young kids only because I may jump on them and accidentally knock them down. I am up to date on all vaccines, neutered, treated for fleas and heartworm negative. I will also be chipped before leaving rescue. I should go to a home with a high wooden fence. I can and will climb even very tall wire fences. I do not do so well with small animals but I do wonderful with other dogs my size or bigger. If you want an awesome boy, that's me!! (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 15-10-16-00132Nema (female)|
LOCATION: E.LANSING MI As time has went on, Nema's true personality has really shown through. Where to start... Well her personality and temperament is DEFINITELY more GSD than Husky. For that reason she is only going to an experienced GSD family. She has some major guarding/protective tendencies and if not placed in the right home that could be very bad for her. Her natural protectiveness has caused her to lash out and defend without much warning. She has gone to a bootcamp with a wonderful trainer who specializes in GSD's and she is doing AMAZING working on her training with her foster mom. She is learning to look to her handler for direction rather than taking matters into her own hands. In a few short weeks she has come so far. Continued training will be require for any potential adopters. Nema will also need a home that does NOT have small children; while I think that should would be naturally protective of her family, I'd rather not have children so young that don't understand her threshold. She has some pretty severe separation anxiety. She had caused massive amounts of damage to her snout trying to escape her crate; she had destroyed many so we have her in a heavy duty steel crate that seems to be doing the trick. She is VERY loyal to those she knows; to a fault. She gets along with the other dogs in the home (for the most part; if someone starts something she will NOT back down though) She lives with cats, and although she likes to chase them on occasion she listens amazing well and will sleep and snuggle with them too. TO BE CLEAR: We have never seen her be aggressive; most of her behaviors are either protective or defensive in nature. If interested you can also purchase her crate at the cost we paid $170. It's one of the indestructible crates. She gets along great with the other dogs at the foster home; but an overbearing or bully personality would be a challenge. Cats, well her foster mom has cats and while she would like to chase them she listens well and cuddles with them often. Application, Home visit, and contract apply $300 adoption fee. |PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Michigan|
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Michigan if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
