Athena is great girl. Loves walks and runs, or generally being with her pack. She does well with cats, she just needs a pack leader to let her know the limits. Athena also does great with kids; in fact she loves them! Babies, toddlers, it doesn't matter. She is a natural leader; naturally dominant; alpha personality. She would do best in a home with a calm leader. Someone who is familiar with huskies and alphas.

I know it is a long shot but am trusting God to help me find a special couple to adopt these 2 brothers. We rescued them as puppies. One was the big boy and the other the runt. They are friendly and lovable but are huskies and have strong prey drive. They need a yard with a privacy fence as we have invisible fence and they get out 5% of time. Recently divorced and am moving to a small place. They are strong and chased my neighbors small puppy and hurt him. Anything that looks like possums and squirrels, they will hunt. Please help as the neighbors are pressing charges and I may be forced into putting them down. They are at such a good ... (Read More)age and are mellowing out. I am heartsick. (Less)

Hello there! My name is max. I have a bit of a sad story. My mommy had to give me up because I nipped at someone and bit another. It wasn't a bad bite but enough for mommy to say she was going to have to put me down. One of her friends heard about this and contacted this rescue asking for help. They thankfully saved my life. They accepted me into their program. I am a great boy once I get to know someone. I am leery of new people that is why I MUST go to an experienced adopter. I am 1 1/2 years old. I am a German shepherd/husky mix. I do good with most dogs but kitties and me do not mix well. Blame that on the husky side of me! I am playful ... (Read More)and love to sit and cuddle. I know how to. sit, lay down, shake, stay....so as you can see I am very very smart. when you say go home, I know exactly what to do. That means go into my kennel. Kids I probably should not be placed with. I ride wonderful in the car and get very excited for car rides. I love to go for walks and walk wonderful on the leash. I should go to a home with a fenced in yard. I am a bigger boy who likes to roam an explore. So if you are experienced with a dog like me, and can work on more training with me then I would LOVE to meet you! Max ( Max will be fixed before adoption) (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Michigan
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Michigan if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
