Rescue Me ID: 14-09-23-00470Rosco (male)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Rosco is a 3 1/2 year old neutered male. We think he is a Husky, Shepherd, and Lab mix. He is housebroken, very friendly, and well behaved. We live on a small hobby farm and hate to get rid of Rosco but he goes after the farm animals. He has injured several of the animals and killed several chickens. We also have cats that he tries to get and I know it's only a matter of time before he gets one. I've been told that Rosco needs to go to a home where there are no other animals, except perhaps another dog (he does get along with dogs) or small children.

Rescue Me ID: 14-09-08-00567Koga (male)

Siberian Husky    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Koga is a 5 year old purebred Siberian Husky. He's house trained, basic obedience trained and very playful. He loves to run, which is the problem. We recently moved to a farm, and we don't have the resources to put in the kind of fencing he needs to keep him contained. We don't want to have to find him a new home, but it's not fair to keep him confined with no room to run either. A husky needs to run to be happy. Koga will only go to a good family experienced in handling huskies, as we love him and want him to be happy. UPDATE: We are now asking an adoption fee of $250 in an attempt to weed out anyone who isn't serious. We've had a ... PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Michigan
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Michigan if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
