Rescue Me ID: 15-03-26-00452  (male)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

It is with a very heavy heart that we need to find a home for Jack. We adopted Jack over a year ago from a very nice family with the intentions of making Jack our Family dog. For about a year Jack and our family were a great fit. Unfortunately Jack has recently developed an unpredictable attitude towards children, which poses a threat to our 3 children and their friends. Our children and Jack take turns in our common area, or Jack has to spend more time in his kennel than I am comfortable with. When Jack is alone with adults he is amazing. He knows simple commands and even plays dead. He enjoys car rides and camping. He has never ... (Read More)attempted to jump our fence, even though it would be quit easy for him. Jack is very loving and I believe he loves his 'siblings' aka our children, however I can not ignore the signs of distaste he is starting to show towards other children. I would like to find a forever home for Jack where he is appreciated for his cleverness and big heart, as opposed to his current situation where he is constantly separated from us. (Less)

Siberian Husky    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adult Women Only
Personality: Low Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected

Lita is a 5 year old husky. She was abused and neglected when I got her about 2 months ago. She is afraid of everything. She really hasn't made any progress since I've had her. She is also not potty trained due to the situation she was previously in. She lived outside her whole life and doesn't even know how to feel about living inside. She needs a home that has a backyard to run around in. She is a completely different dog outside than she is inside. She loves it outside because that's all she knows. She isn't very good with other dogs so a home without dogs is preferred. I am only re-homing her because I don't have enough time to spend ... (Read More)with her and train her. (Less)

Hello there! My name is max. I have a bit of a sad story. My mommy had to give me up because I nipped at someone and bit another. It wasn't a bad bite but enough for mommy to say she was going to have to put me down. One of her friends heard about this and contacted this rescue asking for help. They thankfully saved my life. They accepted me into their program. I am a great boy once I get to know someone. I am leery of new people that is why I MUST go to an experienced adopter. I am 1 1/2 years old. I am a German shepherd/husky mix. I do good with most dogs but kitties and me do not mix well. Blame that on the husky side of me! I am playful ... (Read More)and love to sit and cuddle. I know how to. sit, lay down, shake, stay....so as you can see I am very very smart. when you say go home, I know exactly what to do. That means go into my kennel. Kids I probably should not be placed with. I ride wonderful in the car and get very excited for car rides. I love to go for walks and walk wonderful on the leash. I should go to a home with a fenced in yard. I am a bigger boy who likes to roam an explore. So if you are experienced with a dog like me, and can work on more training with me then I would LOVE to meet you! Max ( Max will be fixed before adoption) (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Michigan
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Michigan if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
