https://www.facebook.com/SamAndTsuki/ *I prefer both dogs go together but may consider separating them* Life has changed dramatically in the last year and the many transitions have been tough on my darling dogs, Sam and Tsuki. I've finally decided it's time to re-home them. Although heartbreaking, considering the unpredictability of my current and future circumstances and the prospect of traveling overseas, I'm unable to provide Sam and Tsuki with the love, care and attention they need and deserve. I owe them more than I can offer and am putting their well being before my attachment. I'm comforted by my faith that another home is right for them. Hello, I'm Tsuki (pronounced Soo-key). The old one. My name comes from the Japanese word 'Tsukiko,' which means 'full moon,' because that's what my eyes are like. Later on, my mom found out my name also means 'thrust,' which is weird. She kind of regrets the spelling too because it just confuses people. I'm a handsome senior. My life has been incredible. I used to leap through windows and run across towns and cower at the sound of the smallest breeze. Now I'm much more laid back. I sleep a lot but I really love to be outside in all kinds of weather, although thunder still startles me. What the hell is that and where is it coming from?? My hearing's not the greatest and I sometimes prefer standing in your way. I don't need a leash on the trail. When I'm outside I'm a pup again, happily trotting but always checking back to see if you're okay. The woods are my natural habitat. I'm surprisingly healthy for my age; neutered, microchipped and up to date on everything. My hips are a little stiff and my skin's sensitive so I eat a hypoallergenic diet. You'll know I need something when I stare firmly into your soul. My sister is sometimes annoying and bossy but I like having her around. We're both great with kids and other dogs, although there is an initial ruckus. But after we smell each other's butts and make sure everything's okay back there, we get along great. I lived with a cat once and we were besties, but now I copy my sister and just want to chase them. I don't though because I'm not really into running. I am a gentleman, slow moving and stoic, and even though I whine persistently for attention, I have a very gentle spirit. Stay close to me if you can. I take care of my pack. (Less)

See a description and photos of Sam and Tsuki below for more on what makes them so special. I am in Ann Arbor, MI, but will take them anywhere for the right home. Hi, I'm Sam! The brown one. My name comes from the Sanskrit word 'Samudra,' which means 'gathering together of waters' because my eyes are like the ocean. I'm about 6 years old but have the heart of a child. I love myself, and I love you. I love everything. I am enthusiastic about life and think everything is a gift, especially car rides, visitors, rivers and squirrels (for eating). I am happiest when I'm outside in all the smells or receiving direct attention of any kind. Please pet me. When I'm not running or swimming, I love to rest in my crate but I get bored if I lay around too long. Don't you? I am very food motivated and have a body clock that will urgently tell you exactly when it's time to eat. I love food and pre-rinse all the dishes. Although I cannot be trusted around cats, I am a mama to babies and children and I will kiss off your face if you are sad or have just had dinner. I'm very kind and pretty hilarious, and smarter than you think. I wear a Tile so I can be easily found if I run off on an unsupervised adventure, but it's been awhile since I've tried. I'm very healthy; spayed, microchipped and up to date on all my shots and stuff. I was just groomed last week so I'm feeling pretty fancy. I love my vet and local boarder and am happy in anyone's company. You don't need to win me over. We're already friends. (Less)

MEET SKYE-7 year old male Husky/Shepherd Mix We have been waiting a long time to share Skye's story. Skye came to Wild Dog Rescue nearly 4 years ago. He came to us with his mate, Karma, from the Chicago area. There they were found living near a dumpster at a horse race track, a common dumping grounds for animals. Skye and Karma were inseparable at the time, however, Karma's life was cut short due to bone cancer, and Skye has been lost since. The only security he knew was gone. He didn't trust us and was very unsure about other dogs. It has taken time and a lot of patience, but Skye has found that we aren't such bad people after all. And he has even made several 4 legged friends along the way. We believe that with the right person, a lot of love and even more patience, Skye will make a great companion. He loves toys and we can even take him on walks now. He will require a fenced in yard, one at least 5 feet high. And he will not be able to go to a family with children. He will need to be in a house, so no apartments or condos for this boy. Skye is very picky and choosey about his 4 legged friends. He seems to prefer females over males, but even then, he is picky. If we could find the right match, another dog would serve as a security blanket for him and help him adjust to being a companion. Adopting Skye will take time, and probably several visits. Your opinion of this handsome guy cannot be properly formed with just one visit. He is a special guy with a sweet sweet soul. Please remember, from what we know, he has never known the love and acceptance of a human before coming here to WDR. He needs time. What he doesn't need is to spend the rest of his life in a kennel, not knowing what a dog's life should really be like. |Rescue Me ID: 17-01-30-00096Rascal (male)|
Hi everyone my name is Rascal and I'm a lab/husky mix. I am going to be a BIG boy. I'm playful and got the name Rascal for a good reason! I can be pretty hyper but also can settle in and snuggle real good. I'm all puppy for sure and a real chewing machine. With time I'll learn not to chew on shoes, plants, wood, chairs and other things, but for now I'll chew whatever I can get my teeth on. I am a german shepherd/lab mix. I am approximately 5 months old. I'm darn excited to get a home of my very own! I will be needing someone though who is willing to take me to puppy training classes. We will have a blast there. I also am looking for someone who will spend lots of time with me and not adopt me just because I'm cute. Remember I'll be a big boy real soon! I'm all up to date on my vaccines. So come on out and visit me! Oh and also, I absolutely must have a fenced in yard and the fence needs to be 6 foot high! Love, Rascal (Less)

Good with our kids and our small dog. But does not get along with our other adult male dog. Does growl at unknown people sometimes. Has never but or attacked anyone. Kept outside as he fights with other dog and will pee in home as a dominance show. We do not have time to work with him in behaviors. Likes attention and to go for walks. Very playful.

Meet Jack! Jack came to us from the Manistee Seizure of 2015. He is a sled dog that came from a home of neglect. He is a truly wonderful boy and great with humans! If food is involved, he will not stray much than ten feet from his human. Jack is very loving and just so happy to be with his human. He craves attention, and couches. He is a HUGE couch potato. If Jack sounds like the perfect addition to your family, please find his adoption application at www.HHSHR.com!

Meet Dublin! Dublin is a six year old male Siberian Husky who is just as sweet as can be. He is a soft-eyed boy with almost a Samoyed look to him. He is a normal, high-energy husky that loves to do zoomies! He is a bit of a picky eater but likes some small biscuits and soft treats. Dublin is great with both adults and children and good with other dogs except for intact females. He is eager to learn and please his human. If you are interested in adopting Dublin, please visit our website at www.hhshr.com to complete an adoption application!

Hi! My name is Cheveyo. I am a 3.5 year old husky mix. I have lots of energy but mind well. I know how to sit, wait and stay. I am very intelligent. I am house and crate trained. I love toys, and I am very playful. When I first meet people I like to try to act like the boss, so I need someone that will put me in my place right away. I would love to go to a home with someone that has husky knowledge and that will keep up on my training and show me new things to learn. I would do best in a home without very young kids only because I may jump on them and accidentally knock them down. I am up to date on all vaccines, neutered, treated for fleas and heartworm negative. I will also be chipped before leaving rescue. I should go to a home with a high wooden fence. I can and will climb even very tall wire fences. I do quite well on a least requiring minimal corrections. I do not do so well with small animals but I do wonderful with other dogs my size or bigger. NO CATS, I hate them! I would love to have a home with another energetic dog! If you want an awesome boy, that's me!! (a foster home would be considered!!) (Less)

I am a 3.5 year old husky/lab mix. I love other dogs of all sizes. I love kids and all people and am kennel and house trained. I should not be placed in a home with cats as I don't like them at all. I am very sweet and gentle. I weigh 58.9 pounds. I like to go on runs, walks and I like car rides! I know how to sit, stay, wait and if you place a treat on my paw I'll wait for you to remove it and offer it to me before I take it. Aren't I a good boy? I also walk well on a leash with minimal corrections. The husky in me though means that if I get off leash or out of a fenced area I will run and not come back. Oh I love to RUN! I have also been known to dart out doors too so you have to watch me real closely. I have what they call separation anxiety so I have to be kenneled when I'm left home alone. A 6 ft. wood or chain fence would be perfect for me. Please consider me! Fill out an adoption application here www.fewstepsfromhome.com (Less)

|PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Michigan|
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Michigan if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
