Rescue Me ID: 15-04-13-00137Loki (male)

Siberian Husky    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Loki is 4 years old & very friendly. He needs a fenced yard to run around in. His favorite toy is an oversized tennis ball. He will even toss it himself and chase it. He will make a great dog for someone who is familiar with the breed and can provide him with obediance training. He jumps up when excited, pulls on his leash and steals people food. Because of the jumping I wouldn't recommend him for a family with small kids. Sigyn is a 2 year old female black & white husky mix. She is very friendly. Submissive personality. Does not have the behavior issues Loki does, but needs remedial potty training. She is smart & wants to please so should t ... (Read More)be hard, I am just not home enough. She crates well & is ok outside in the meantime. Both dogs were rescues and my large chaotic family has not been able to provide them the training they need. My kids are visiting their dad for the summer and I am working 2 full time jobs so will not be home to care for them. School ends next week so I am hoping to place them asap. I really dont want to take them to MSPCA but am running out of options and time. If you are a rescue/foster family or someone who has had huskies before please consider Loki & Sigyn. They are great dogs. If the adoption did not work out, we would take him/them back. Located in Sandwich, MA. Please email if/when you would like to visit. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Massachusetts
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Massachusetts if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
