Luna is a beautiful approximately 4-year old Siberian Husky. I have been fostering her for almost two weeks for Northern Exposure Siberian Husky Rescue. She was surrendered by her owner (who was breeding her), after she escaped with her puppy. She's still getting used to being in a home and living in the city, so she does get a bit nervous with strange noises. She is otherwise incredibly sweet, affectionate and very calm. I'm potty and crate training her, and teaching her basic commands. She was at first apprehensive of my male husky, but is now getting used to sharing space, food and attention. If you're interested in adopting her, please contact me or go to neshr.org for more information. (Less)

[Read About Natural Seizure Care] I adopted Dakota when she was 17 weeks old. She has been a wonderful addition to my family. At 1 year of age she was diagnosed with seizures. She has been medicated for them ever since and has done well. My children have Cystic Fibrosis which is a genetic disease and there medications are about all i can handle these days. My husband and I have separated and I have tried my best to keep up with everything and I just cant. Dakota is a great, loving dog. She listens to commands, is house trained, can go outside without a leash ( which is amazing for a husky), I want to find her a new home with someone that can afford to take care of her needs. I have to put my children's medical needs first, it was a hard decision to make but it is what is best for her and us. If you have room in your home and heart please contact me. 443-418-8824. I want her to have a family and not be taken to a shelter. (Less)

He is super sweet, house trained, loves walks and play. He needs a lot of attention and I have a new born. Even though I try to give him the attention he deserves I can't. He seems so unhappy, but I love him and want to see him happy. Please if you can not give him the time and love do not ask about him.

I have been fostering Max for about 4 months since his owners could no longer keep him. It was my intention to keep him permanently but we did not know he was not good with cats. He is a very sweet and lovable dog that needs a good home. Max is 2 years old (65lbs) and is up to date on all his shots /fixed. I would recommend training since he does like to jump on people for attention. He is great with small dogs and children but I would not recommend it since he is very playful and can be a little too much to handle. We are looking for someone that lives in the MD/VA/DC area to keep him close. He is our current dog's brother and we would love to keep in contact with his future owners when adopted. If you are interested please email me a little about yourself and what your living situation is like. (Less)

Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Maryland if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
