Rescue Me ID: 14-04-04-00022Manny (male)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Manny is probably close to 3 yo. He is energetic. Loves to play. I rescued him from GA last year. I am guessing at which kind of shepherd he is but he has ice blue eyes and a light colored brindled coat, which makes him really stand out. Would probably do with with older children due to his energy level. needs an active family with plenty of room to exercise. I can check with cats, if interested, but I dont believe he is aggressive towards them. He does like to play with others. Would need a high sturdy fence as he is a tall boy. I have not had him weighed recently but hes probably in the range of 65 lbs plus. I believe he is current on ... (Read More)shots but can check. He is crate trained. Still acts like a puppy so that's why I said he needs an active family or couple to give him plenty of exercise. I do have a small private rescue and I rescue with intent to adopt out into good homes so i do have a contract for adoption and do the basics to ensure hes going to the good home so serious inquiries only please. I want him to have a forever home. He is an awesome dog and deserves that. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-03-16-00268Kane (male)

Siberian Husky    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Needs to be Neutered

Kane is a Siberian Husky unaltered if what I was told is true he will be 2 in July 2014. Kane was with a young couple that the boyfriend was in the service and was not very kind to Kane. My daughter took him to remove him from this situation. Kane was to hard for my daughter to handle with 3 little ones. They became attached to him and where very upset that they couldn't keep him. To keep Kane from going to the shelter I took him till I can find him a home. Kane walks well on leash, however he has a high prey drive and will suddenly try to rush after something he sees. I have had no issues other than he is a jumper, which I have not been ... (Read More)able to break him of this. Kane is house trained, he was crate trained by previous owner, I have a crate but don't close him in it. The door remains open he goes in at will as his space. He has run of the house. I have had no biting issues and have taken things out of his mouth with no issues. Wants attention all the time and doesn't like to be alone. When I return home from work he is over excited till I calm him and walk him. From stories I have heard about this breed I feel he is very good. I have health issues from cancer treatment and I'm physically not able to handle his jumping and pulling when he is play mode. This and my full time work schedule isn't good match for him. Kane needs someone who can take long walks or run with him to give him exercise this isn't physically something I can do. Kane is a good boy just young and to much for me. I must know he will be with a loving person, he deserves this. He had a rough start to life but has been shown kindness and excepted it with love in return. Please if you have a place in your heart to love Kane and treat him very good, not tie him up and leave him outside but make him part of your home and family I would love to hear from you. I only want to see him in the care of someone who can give him what he needs. This is what I promised him. Due to some contacts I wanted to add Kane is a house dog he pants in 70 weather. Kane likes to go out in the cold weather but only for a short time then he is ready to go back in. Also the pull down list didn't have an option to state good with older kids. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Maryland
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Maryland if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
