Go to www.neshr.org for application Luna is a beautiful approximately 4-year old Siberian Husky. I have been fostering her for almost 6 weeks for Northern Exposure Siberian Husky Rescue. She was surrendered by her owner (who was breeding her), after she escaped with her puppy. She's still getting used to being in a home and living in the city, so she does get a bit nervous with strange noises. She is otherwise incredibly sweet, affectionate and very calm. I've potty and crate trained her, and have been teaching her basic commands. She was at first apprehensive of my male husky, but is now getting used to sharing space, food and attention. If you're interested in adopting her, go to neshr.org for more information. (Less)

Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Maryland if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
