|Rescue Me ID: 16-02-01-00065Toby (male)|
Toby is about 1 1/2 years old. He's a good dog, but we're not the right family for him. I can't walk him, he's too strong. He's probably around 70 lbs. He's a good protector, and will growl at people he doesn't know. He knows some commands. He's housetrained. He's very friendly and loving. He eats out of my hand. He's happy to lay around for hours, but needs daily walks. He's very smart- he knows how to open the door with his nose! He was attacked by another dog, so now he's nervous around new dogs. He has done well with other dogs before. He would do best in a home without small children.

|Rescue Me ID: 16-01-07-00325Sassy (female)|
COURTESY POST-TCAS-130732-Sassy is a red and white female Siberian Husky and Labrador Retriever mix. She is approximately 10 years, 6 months old. She has been spayed. Sassy is a sweet and energetic girl who loves to get attention. She may be older, but still has loves to play and run around. Sassy has tested POSITIVE FOR HEARTWORMS and may have EXTRA MEDICAL COSTS. Pets in Need in Southern Maryland is currently raising funds to go toward her heartworm treatment. She seems to like other dogs, but high energy dogs may be too much for her. Sassy can't wait to meet her forever family!!

Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Maryland if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
