|Rescue Me ID: 16-03-30-00456Lakota (male)|
Lakota has been our family member since august of 2014, he was born on July 4th, 2014. Lakota is well trained, professionally, and is purebred. Absolutely beautiful, he loves to cuddle and play gentle. This is very hard for us, but now for the second time he has bitten my youngest daughter. She is very high energy herself, and does not practice good pet etiquette especially when the dog is eating. That being said, it is unacceptable to have them around each other anymore. He has never had any other issues, with kids or adults other than her. Our oldest (8 years old) has never had any aggression shown to her. This is very hard for us, but our options and time are very limited, We would love to be able to re-home him, but will euthanize if needed. Please, this guy is as smart as they come and an amazing companion, he will make someone very happy. (Less)

Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Maine if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
