August is not aggressive once she gets to know people. She is very stand off at 1st. Is not aggressive with my 8 year old but tries to herd her, that's why I put not good with kids. Has been around many dogs and normally does good but you never know what she is thinking. She does have wold in her from what I was told. Needs a home with only adults or one person as she is pretty much a one person dog. Needs a placement asap. She chases cats. Please someone help her have a forever home. Thanks.

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-19-00253Blackie (male)
Blackie is approx. 4 years old. He spent most of his life in an outside pen. Now that he is free, all he wants is to be close to someone. Blackie is a wonderful dog and would make a great companion dog. He gets along with other dogs and loves everyone.

Animal ID: 0006Cora (female)
Cora is a beautiful husky-boxer mix. She was rescued from a high kill shelter who obtained her from someone who neglected them. When we rescued her litter of 8, they all had ringworm, raw hairless patches, and then sadly contracted parvovirus. Not one to give in, this little girl fought and survived parvo, and is gaining weight back. She will have her spay surgery soon, and then will be available for adoption to the right family!

Animal ID: 0011Sarge (male)
Sarge was rescued from a high kill shelter where he was turned in with his litter of 8. They had laid in their own excrement and developed sores on multiple places on their bodies. They're currently getting a lot of TLC and medical care to help their skin heal. They are adorable and sweet despite the wrong that was done to them. Sarge is approximately 8-10 weeks old, UTD on shots, and will be neutered prior to adoption.

Rescue Me ID: 14-09-29-00312Cotton (female)
[Read About Natural Seizure Care] Cotton is a lovely husky mix in need of a good home. She has been an outside dog so far, but could be a wonderful indoor pet with some training. Though she is a husky/great pyrenees cross, she is not overly large - approximately 50 lbs and lean. She does have epilepsy, but her seizures are well-controlled with medication. She is too much for her current family to handle right now and needs a new family as soon as possible. Please consider this sweet special needs girl. I think she has the best disposition and would make a great companion.

Rescue Me ID: 14-09-28-00513Ghost (female)
Ghost is a 1 year and 5 month old Alaskan Husky. She has an awesome typical husky attitude, curious, excitable, and VERY loving. Ghost will want to be by your side whenever possible, and enjoys people watching (including yourself). Very friendly, most of the time when ghost runs up to you, she will roll over onto her back for some belly rubs! I care about Ghosts welfare very much, if you are interested in adopting her, I have no fee, but I would like to have a conversation first to determine if I feel comfortable sending her to live with you. Ghost gets along fine with most every dog, she just likes to play when another dog is around(some people think dogs shouldn't play and its bad behavior....), If you have a fened in yard, it wont be a problem, just put them out to play. She has been around 3 puppies for multiple months and became their mother figure immediately, very loving and gentle with them. She does get nervous husky syndrome occasionally when left alone, but she DOES NOT claw up carpet, chew shoes, or most of the usual husky crimes. I think Ghost is probably the nicest dog I've ever owned, but my room mates have unrealistically high expectations for any dog which has lead me to decide Ghost will live a happier/less stressful life with an established family, where she can form a tight bond with 2-5 people who will love her as much as she loves them. Give Ghosty-Girl a chance and you will never look back! Contact for more pictures (Less)

Animal ID: 13-11-10-00078Abby (female)
Abby was taken in by us after her owner passed away. She is 6 yrs old and very active. She loves to run and would make a good working or sled dog. She needs a home where she has a large secure yard or life in the country. Abby has never been around small children so compatibility is unknown. She lives with 2 other dogs but is clearly the alpha of her area. Abby is fixed and has no health issues. She craves interaction with people and is very loving. She has always been an outside dog but does come inside under supervision. I am willing to travel to other states to find her a good home. She has been know to eat a potted plant but doesnt dig holes or eat yard plants. She needs an owner that has time and the knowledge of huskies to train and exercise her. An ideal home would be in the county up north as an outside dog. Asking for Adoption fee of 50. which will be donated to Rescue Me Adoptions. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Kentucky
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Kentucky if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
