Bugsy is a sweet friendly boy who showed up at a house and the kind people there took care of him and tried to find his owners but they couldn't find them. So they have asked the shelter to help find Bugsy a new home. He is about 4-months-old and is working on house training. He is a smart guy and very unique because he has one blue eye. Hey likes children he just can not be in a situation where food that is not for him is set down. And that is impossible with a child in the home. This is Dakota. He loves to play and seems so sweet with us. But, he has been known to be aggressive towards strangers and small children. I believe his ideal home would be a single man, or couple, with no children and capable of handling a dog of his size, strength, and age. Someone who can devote time to playing with him, and training him. BUT, it's very important (to me) that he not be homed with small children or anyone who has young children visit often. We took him in so that he would not have to go to a shelter, but because we do have small children here often we cannot keep him. If we're not able to find a good home for him soon we ... | PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Kentucky | |||||||||
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Kentucky if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
