Siberian Husky    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Very little time left and looking for all options. Spook is a 16 month old, unneutred white Siberian Husky. Spook does have a bite record with local police. I have not seen any agreesive tendency but apparently after getting out of a fenced yard when cornered did bite. He loves to run and be outside. He has been around my grandchildren and other kids in the neighborhood with no issues. Police will not release unless rescue center signs information related to liability, etc. Spook must be relocated out of the Griffith area.

Quincy, Michigan Wrangler is an approx 1-2yr old boy who is neutered, utd and hw neg. He is a handful, very typical of any Sibe around this age. He needs a home with some structure and training. He is sweet and loving, gets along with her other dogs, cats and kids. He is a bundle of energy and needs an outlet. He is a houdini in the crate, so she has just been puppy proofing the home when she leaves. He's relatively potty trained, has had an accident or two. She has caught him mark a couple times, nothing that cant be worked on. He's a trash diver and will try to dart out of the house. (Sounds all Sibe to me lol) He needs someone with time, ... (Read More)patience and the willingness to dedicate time to his training and exercise, I think he would make a great agility dog, SO SMART!! He has some kinks to work out, nothing an experienced dog/Sibe home couldn't handle. Application, Home Visit and Contract apply. $250 Adoption fee. MY VIDEO: Application Link: (Less)

Meet Zeke! He is a sweet 9 mo old purebred Siberian Husky. Zeke came from a family with children who didn't have time for him anymore. He gets along great with other dogs, is house and crate trained but is still a puppy and really would do well in a home where he is not crated for more than 5-6 hrs. He is walked on a leash at his foster home but really needs a fenced backyard. Zeke will be neutered and microchipped before he goes to his new home.

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-04-00254Sheeba (female)

Siberian Husky    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Most Cats
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Arthritis, Deaf, Aggressive

We took Sheeba in last year after her owner passed away and she was going to be euthanized. She is sweet, playful and has adapted to being indoors and enjoys company. However, she was raised as an outside dog with no training or discipline. She has to have a fenced in area or she will run away which is where we have problems. If she is redirected or refuses and we grab her collar she used to nip but now she bites. She has bitten my best friend and yesterday bit my husband which she has NEVER been aggressive toward him and surprised us all. The bites have punctured the skin but nothing critical. Again, this is only when she is being told what ... (Read More)to do. If on a leash she is fine. She does find inside, however, she does frequent the kitchen trying to hoard food. She has arthritis in her back legs and can't hear well. We have four children the youngest being five and four months as well as constant visitors and other small children in the house. We cannot risk them getting bit and her aggression is getting worse if she is touched from behind without expecting it. She has a lot of life left in her and can be playful but we cannot keep her . We are told the Animal Control in this town are not forgiving should she get out of our fence and run free, which would ultimately result in someone being bit. We love her and she is very sweet but we cannot risk the kids. She needs a calm environment with adults and have room for her to roam and fenced in or indoor. If we can't find her a home we will have to surrender her. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Indiana
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Indiana if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
