Rescue Me ID: 16-08-22-00722Clyde (male)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Clyde. He is a 5-month-old mixed breed guy. We never saw mom or dad, so we can only guess on the mix. We think he might have some shepherd or husky and some lab. The bottom line is that he is a little of anything and possibly everything. Clyde is a little extra special because he has two different ears. In the picture it looks like one ear is flipped back, but it really is just how he is born. It makes us love him even more. He is a sweet, sweet little boy who has not been very socialized. He was very shy when we first met him, but he is already warming up to new things he has been exposed to such as noises and objects in the home. ... (Read More)Clyde does very well with other dogs and could benefit from a more confident dog to help him learn about a dog's life. Clyde is a little interested in cats and kind of wants to chase, but he also takes correction well and is learning to ignore them when they run. Clyde would do fine with children who will be patient with him as he adjusts to all that is new around him. He is shy but not ever aggressive. Once Clyde is placed in his foster or foster-to-adopt home, he will be brought up to date on his vetting: neuter, vaccines, and microchip. Clyde is learning about housebreaking. Quite honestly, he is doing an amazing job. He has had just a couple of accidents in his first few days as an indoor pup. Clyde is also doing great in his crate. He will need to learn things like a leash and basic commands, but we are certain he will pick it all up very quickly. If you would like to be a foster or foster-to-adopt home for Clyde please complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. His adoption fee is $175. (Less)

Mark is my name and, no, I am not a Blue Tick hound. I am a Red Tick but that is not a selection on this site. I am actually an American English Coonhound. Pretty fancy name, don't you think? I have tested negative for heartworms, have current vaccinations, and will be neutered before being adopted. I am a great dog with one small problem. I do not like to be confined to small spaces. The shelter has me in their outside kennels at this time because I was bouncing off the sides of the inside kennel. I can be an inside house dog and get along with children. I do not like other male dogs. This shelter has a limit on ... (Read More)how long an animal can wait for a new home and my days are numbered. If you are a lover of hounds and can find room in your home and life for this hound, please contact the shelter and make arrangements for a visit. I am patiently and wishfully waiting. (Less)

Siberian Husky    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Say HI to Lobo!! What a goofy boy he is. Lobo is a year old and very much still an over-grown pup. Lobo had NO MANNERS OR TRAINING when he came to us from the shelter. He's is doing Sooo good in his foster home. He's learning the basics very quickly; such a smart boy!! Lobo does need a lot of stimulation and exercise or he become a bit hard to handle. He had some horrible mouthing habits when we got him; but with training and a firm, confident handler we have had no issues at all. He wants to play play play...so for that reason we recommend younger dogs for him, as he can be a bit obnoxious with his need for activity. He's crate and potty ... (Read More)trained. Had a couple marking incidents but that has subsided quickly. Because he is a puppy trapped in an adult body we are recommending kids older than 5yrs old. He will dart out a door and never look back. He can jump shorter fences, but hasn't shown any interest in the fosters 5ft fence at all. Lobo is neutered, UTD, HW/Lyme tested and on prevent, microchipped. PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Indiana
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Indiana if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
