Rescue Me ID: 17-10-13-00170Echo (female)

Siberian Husky    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

This sweet and beautiful girl is a well loved member of our family. She has always been very friendly towards humans, including our 6 year old and his friends, and our other large dog. She loves to cuddle, be petted, run around, and play (especially tug of war). Her personality is so funny and adorable. She is extremely smart and is absolutley stunning. Our almost-3-year-old has the brightest hazel eyes and the softest fur I've ever seen. She is healthy and an ideal weight. We always receive compliments on her beauty. We are so heartbroken that we have to find a new home for this precious girl. We recently moved, and this week Echo killed a ... (Read More)squirrel and a tiny teacup Yorkie belonging to our new neighbor. This is the first time something like this has occurred, but as a result, we need to find a new home for Echo - a home without cats or other small animals. Our neighbors have complained and demanded that we get rid of Echo. One neighbor even threatened to call the Sheriff on us. We have raised Echo from a puppy, and are very concerned that she go to a good home. If anyone has room for our little beauty queen, please call me as soon as possible at 812-630-7615. (Less)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Puppy

Loki is an almost 2yr old half husky half american bulldog who weighs 75lbs. He is sensitive to chicken(gives him diahrea). He had completed beginners obedience classes and is crate and leash trained and knows sit and stay(most of the time lol). He was a bottle fed pup as mom wanted nothing to do with her pups and so wanted to be right with you all the time. He is very loving and does great with kids, though he is larger than he realizes so can knock little ones over by accident. He also does great with tiny dogs. I babe very little space and he needs allot of excersise, which was fine until I sustained a permanent ankle injury and can no ... (Read More)longer take him on long walks. I am also unstable while standing now and he keeps knocking me over so I've had to keep him crated way more than is healthy for him. It is not fair to him and so I'm looking for a new home for him. Rescue Me ID: 17-09-03-00005Toby (male)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Toby. This stunning guy is a 1-year-old shepherd mix who absolutely loves to be loved. His daily goal is to soak up as much attention as possible. He is looking for a forever home that will love his cuddles and desire to be a lap dog whenever possible. He does weigh about 65 pounds which seems to be a perfect lap dog size. ;) Toby gets along well with other dogs, but doesn't necessarily need a dog buddy in his home. His dog buddy will have to like rough play just like he does. He can be fairly energetic in spells. Once he has had a chance to run around for a couple of minutes, Toby is pretty chill and just looking for a chance for ... (Read More)snuggles or at least a nap near his people. Our vibe is that Toby is at very least a cat chaser; sometimes he looks too intense. We recommend older kids in Toby's forever home because he does jump to greet people. Of course this can (and should) be trained out of him. Since being with us, Toby has learned that toys are great. He loves tennis balls and rope toys. He has also learned the joy of obeying commands because a yummy treat is soon to follow. However, his best reward for following the rules is a hug. Like we said, Toby loves attention. If someone is looking for a super bestest buddy who would love to be an adventure companion, Toby might be the perfect guy. He is a total people pleaser and will learn quickly. Toby is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. He seems to be reliably housebroken and crate trained. He can be pretty vocal when first left alone; something to keep in mind for apartment dwellers. If you would like to meet Toby, please complete an application in the link below. Please include any questions you have directly on the application. After we review the applications, we will arrange individual meet and greets. Toby's adoption fee is $175. www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting.html (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-08-01-00196Karlee (female)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Karlee. This pretty girl is an 8-year-old husky mix and is absolutely stunning. Karlee is a sweet girl who is looking for a doting, patient family who will love her for exactly who she is. Karlee can be a little anxious at times and paces quite a bit. She is almost always walking around with her tongue hanging way out--we just happened to catch her at the right moment where only part of her tongue can be seen. Although most people associate anxiety with destruction, this is not the case with Karlee. She has been free to roam the unsupervised for many years without issue. Karlee has been raised with another dog and some of her stress ... (Read More)could be associated with the loss of the other pet. However, Karlee doesn't seem to want to be around other animals anymore. She tolerates them fine, but isn't looking to be buddies. She currently lives with a cat, but Karlee stays clear of her whenever possible. Karlee is inexperienced with children. Teenagers who know how to go slow with introductions would be fine. An ideal home for Karlee would give her plenty of exercise. She once had a yard to run around in, but is now confined to a tie out and then comes right back in. Since this change, Karlee has packed on some weight. She is also currently left alone for long periods of time, something she hasn't always had to deal with. All in all, Karlee just wants to be loved and to have special person in her life who will spoil her. Karlee is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She is solidly housebroken and does not need to be crated. If you would like to meet Karlee please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. Her adoption fee is $150. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-01-30-00303Fallon (female)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Very High Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

*********If a dog is listed on this site, they are still available for adoption. Before a meet and greet can be set up, we require an adoption application be filled out. You can find an application at www.waldosmuttleycrew.org****** Fallon 2 year old anatoilian shepherd/husky 70 lbs good with people & older kids; good with medium & large sizes dogs No cats! Adoption fee $200 Fallon is such a beautiful girl!!!!! She is strikingly good looking and gets complements all the time but she doesn't let it go to her head! She's a tomboy who likes to rough & tumble and chase more than anything; playing with other dogs is ... (Read More)definitely her favorite thing to do. When we got her, she'd been abused so was timid with new people, especially men. But she's blossomed into a happy, well-adjusted girl who enjoys attention and getting her ears scratched. She's active so would be a great running partner but would be equally happy racing around the back yard after toys. Her favored playmates are males ... she's not a 'girly-girl' but she is fine with females; she just doesn't really romp with them. Because of her anatolian heritage, she instinctively is protective of her people and property. When her foster mom is around, she's very social and friendly with visitors. But if strangers appear and mom's not home, Fallon is definitely stand-offish. She's extremely loyal and very eager to please so would excel in obedience training, She appears to be potty trained and, although she loves toys (especially the squeaky ones!), she is not destructive with them. She is protective of her food with other dogs (but not with people) so isn't recommended in a home with children under 10 years old. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Indiana
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Indiana if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
