Rescue Me ID: 16-02-07-00045Harvey (male)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Puppy

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

***PLEASE NOTE -- THIS IS A COURTESY POST. HARVEY IS WITH ANOTHER RESCUE. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING HIM, PLEASE EMAIL: lisa@hotblownglass.com****** Harvey Harvey-bagarvey-tooturally!! This super energetic happy go lucky fellow gets his bounding fun-loving nature from his husky/hound/pitty mixology. Harvey sure is a handsome fellow that LOVES to play with his foster siblings. He will play with whoever wants to play. His enthusiasm keeps from a serious long-term training session. We are still working on some counter surfing. He enjoys looking at what I have up there but doesn't take anything down. When Harvey first arrived on a ... (Read More)rescue transport out of Georgia, he seemed extremely thin. But having filled out, it is just his breed mix and energy level that keeps him having such a handsome physique. Harvey has overcome his crating issues, he is okay with going in and having down time, (but without bedding) Bedding is a great tugowar material. He also had to learn his collar was an okay thing! On occasion is seems as though he remembers that some had treated him badly having to do with his collar. Now, it's all excitement about the collar and leash to go for a walk. With him being part husky he will need a large fenced yard to burn off his energy. A short walk in the evening will not do!! Harvey weighs @60lbs. and is 1-2yrs old. I send all my dogs out current on shots. He is neutered and microchipped. Heartworm negative and takes monthly heartworm preventative. He keeps a close eye on what's outside the fence and will sound the alarm and let you know he sees 'it'. Unknown-what he thinks about cats. He is okay with small dogs with a good introduction. Harvey has no food aggression issues. He waits for snacks with his buddies. While I work at the counter'|he is a leaner, leaning against the back or side of my leg. (Less)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Loki is a 1-2 year old boxer husky mix. He has a gorgeous color and wonderful blue eyes. He is very energetic and loves to run outside and play. He likes other dogs and generally ignores cats. He gets very lonely and whiny when left at home alone. That being said, having a doggy playmate would cut back on his loneliness. He is crate trained and housebroken. He walks pretty well on a leash and listens very well. He loves people especially 10 and older. He is sometimes slow to warm up to smaller children; however with proper introductions he will most likely warm up and be very loving. If you believe Loki is the perfect fit please contact us.

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Loki. This baby seems to be a misunderstood guy who keeps getting bounced around from one home to the next. His last owners got him off of Craigslist and surrendered him after just 7 days. It just seems so unfair that he can't just be loved and spoiled like all dogs deserve. Loki is about 1-2 years old; we're thinking closer to 1 though. As for breeds, we're guessing boxer/husky mix. he weighs about 50 pounds, making him a perfect medium dog. Loki is a silly, bouncy goof who loves attention and to play fetch. He is just so happy getting attention and running around in the yard. He seems to do well with all other dogs who like him. He ... (Read More)has a lot of energy, so a doggy playmate will have to be of similar size and energy. We don't know how he is with cats. Loki would prefer to be around older, more predictable children who know how to treat him. We're thinking10+ is probably a good starting age. Loki is looking for a home that will give him plenty of exercise and work on some of his manners. Clearly in the process of being tossed from one home to the next, no one bothered to teach him not to jump and how to walk on leash. He does know some other basic commands such as sit and shake. His recall is pretty good too. Loki is up to date on shots, microchipped, and heartworm negative. He will also soon be neutered. So far, Loki appears to be housebroken. He does not like to be crated and would do best being confined to a room or free roaming. If you would like to offer Loki a foster or forever home please fill out an application at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com or email us at pawswapofgreaterlafayette@aol.com or private message us on Facebook. Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament

Ralphie is a year old, happy go lucky, husky/shep mix. He is ready for his own forever home. He gets along with other dogs and people. We think he is good with kids and cats but need some more testing. He has a wonderful personality and is lots of fun. He is active and high energy and just about a year so he will need a family that will work with him, play with him and get into training with him. To ensure he finds his forever family for good we are looking for a family this active but has time to work with him, will have a fenced back yard to play with him and will also take him out for walks. Rescue Me ID: 15-12-03-00168Miley (female)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

MILEY IS ONLY ADOPTABLE TO INDIANA AND OHIO AND MUST HAVE A 6FT FENCE!! Miley is 2 yrs old and being a tripod doesnt slow her down lol. She had a genetic deformity and they opted to remove her leg. She is Spayed, UTD and all that good stuff. She gets along great with dogs of mid-size and larger. She has a very confident personality but wouldnt call her dominant. IMO she is just on the naughty end of the Sibe scale in some of her traits. She is High energy and wants to play play play. Being a tripod has not made her a couch potato by any means. She is doing great on the gentle leader for walking. Stays in her crate during the day and doesnt ... (Read More)escape. She prefers to be out to sleep where she pleases at night. She is vocal. Likes people. I would say her two worst traits are she is a resource guarder and she has a higher prey drive. IMO everything else is just part of the package of having a northern breed. Of course you can't do much about the prey drive except respect it and prepare for it; but once she settles in somewhere and builds some trust...the resource guarding is an issue that needs to be worked with. Separation with food and high values to begin with go from there as you build a relationship with her. She has been bounced around A LOT up until this point but seems to have taken it in stride and it has not broken her spirit; must be her Northern self taking the reigns. I think she will make a wonderful addition to anyones family as long as you are prepared for the Northern breed personality and willing to do a little work to fine tune her. She is a teenager who like to be stubborn and push the boundaries if you let her. I think the only stipulations for her at this point would be no very small children, no small critters in the home and someone experienced with the breed and good containment options because even with 3 legs she is a runner and houdini. Miley has been through obedience training and passed her Canine Good Citizen test (barelylol). Miley had a UC Davis test done prior to her coming to our rescue. Regardless of the minimal wolf content she may have, she can only go to localities that allow wolfdogs and who have a 6ft fence. ONLY THOSE WITH EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE WITH THE NORHTERN BREED WILL BE CONSIDERED. She has been bounced around being Misunderstood; and hey, that's our speciality!! Her next home will be forever and no one ill prepared for the challenge will be considered. Our one and only loyalty is to her happiness and security. If you live in Indiana, Ohio and think you may fit the bill please apply. Currently located in Far NorthCentral Indiana. Application, Home visit, Contract and $300 adoption fee apply. Rescue Me ID: 15-12-03-00161Max (male)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Max!!! Max is an approx 70lb 11mo old boy. He's good sized but not huge by Mally standards; that and other characteristics I think he may be mixed with some Sibe in there. Max is a bit more mally then husky I think, he likes to be by his people and is a bit shy at first meeting new people and dogs but once he has figured out all is ok, play time is on! He has not met a person or dog he doesn't like but he does insist they be willing to play play play (he is a puppy after all!) He is very mellow outside of play time, likes soft comfy things to lay on or a cool spot to stretch his belly out on. He is tall enough to grab things off of the ... (Read More)counters and he will get into an open trash can. He responds to correction very well for a puppy. He has met a 2 yr old and a 6 yr old and did very well with them but he does still mouth and jump and may be a bit much for younger kids. He will definitely need either a very active person or a playmate or 2, human or canine. He would make a wonderful sled dog with his energy, need for interactive play and trainability. Based on the way he stares down the neighbors cat, I would recommend no cats in his house. He currently lives with a 4 foot fence and has not made any escape attempts. Max absolutely HATES the crate. He does better with larger areas and he is more calm when he can see someone is there with him but does not do well alone, in a crate or otherwise. I honestly think he is claustrophobic cause he is terrified of the cone too! He currently has access to a large yard with a dog door and does well when left alone with the female husky (other then trying to make her play and getting her grumpy at him). Again, he would do best with other dogs. 100% house trained and knows how to sit, drop it and will take treats very gently after told 'OK'. Max shares his toys willingly with people and dogs (other than rawhides) and likes company when he eats his food. He is a picky eater when it comes to dog food (we are still trying to find one that makes him and his belly happy) but loves fruits and vegetables enough to steal and eat a whole tomato from the counter! Max had a bad case of fleas when we took him in; and he has a flea allergy so his poor little belly is still recovering. Its itchy and raw; and needs to wear a cone (THAT HE HATES) when you are not watching him so he gives it time for the meds to work and for his skin to heal. He MUST stay on flea prevent YEAR ROUND. Flea allergy can be aggravated by a single bite, so prevention is an absolute. He is so uncomfortable you don't ever want him to go through this again; or you for that matter smile emoticon Application, Home visit and contract apply.     Nema is just the sweetest girl in the world. Nema came to us after delivering a litter of 9 pups and was in horrible condition; only two pups survived. When we get her back on her feet she is going to be just beautiful!! Now that we have treated her parasites and she is eating well she is gaining weight like a champ. She will be spayed and all that good stuff in a few weeks. She gets along great with the other dogs at the foster home. Cats, well I don't recommend cats unless you want to spend your time separating and monitoring like her foster mom has had to do 24/7. She will make quick work of a metal crate but doing well in her airline ... (Read More)crate.     Sammie Sweet heart aka Rocky is a mix between Husky,Jindo, lab mix. He is a very sweet boy. Sammie is believed to be 2 to 3 years old. Sam is also an active dog. Playtime for him is quite necessary as well as chill time indoors. He loves to run, leap, and jump. He can be dog selective, but is NOT good with cats. An active family is a must, please!! Experience with the breed is a plus. Can you give him the forever home he needs? Sammy will make a great running partner. Continued training is a must. Older children please, as he can be very jumpy when excited. Sammie special someone is one that will guide him and continue with obedience ... (Read More)training.. Up for adoption Sammie is a 2 to 3 year old male, Husky/Lab/Jindo Mix. He is seeking a loving home with breed-experienced owner, with a person/persons who are willing to spend the time with him that he needs. He is active which means walking is a must! Hikers and trail walkers would be great for this fun active lover boy. Once he has received his daily exercise, he will settle down and relax. He is what we call a Netflix pup. He loves and very much enjoys down time snuggling on the coach watching you watch your favorite show. He can be dog selective and no cats in the home please. Due to his activity level, he would do better in a home with children 10 years of age or older. Sammie will need continued training. Meaning building trust and bond with his owners. Sammie has been jumped around from shelter to rescue and back several times. But don't let the necessities of his breed fool you. He loves to cuddle and relax. He loves wearing a back packs and accompanying his human family in nature. He loves trips to our local pet stores and meeting new people. Please consider Sammie if you can offer him an active, loving and nurturing home! (Less)

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Hip Dysplasia

Kira is a little over a year. House trained but needs to be let out often to potty. She is a sweet girl with a special need. She needs a quiet home that will take her on walks. She has hip dysplasia from trauma to her hip. She needs an operation to help relieve future pain so she can live a long pain free life. I would help raise funds for the person who adopts her to get the help she needs. She runs and plays with the other dogs and is very loving. Won't you consider giving this sweet young girl a home? You can see videos of her playing on my fb page. Here's the link: https://m.facebook.com/katesk9s?ref=bookmark

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Indiana
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Indiana if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
