This animal is available to licensed rescue groups only. Please do not enquire unless with a licensed rescue group. We have a 2 year old Siberian Husky that we're hoping to get adopted out. His name is Cash and he is very affectionate but after having a newborn he has not been getting the attention he deserves in our home. Not to mention, we cannot afford to keep him anymore. * Microchiped * Not neutered Please help

|Rescue Me ID: 13-06-12-00260Brody (male)|
We are sadly looking to rehome our wonderful 6 year old shepherd mix, Brody. He is a sweet, loving dog, but is not good with other dogs. He is very high energy, and would be great with older kids, he loves to play and run. He is completely housebroken and well trained, excellent on-leash. He loves to cuddle and bury his head in your lap, and will greet you every morning with energy and kisses! He is up to date on all shots, neutered, and very healthy. We love him dearly and are very sad that we have to find a new home for him, and desperately want to find someone who will love him like we do! If interested, please email and set up a meeting with him!! (Less)

MIKA is a 1 year old husky/ shiba inu dog mix. She is housebroken and crate trained, would do best with and experienced owner. She is alittle shy, but warms up quickly, then is super loyal, very snuggly and affectionate. She know basic commands, is very smart and eager to learn and is good with other dogs and cats. She would love a yard and an active owner. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. View more pictures of Mika on our facebook page, like us.

|Rescue Me ID: 13-04-27-00095Lakota (female)|
Lakota is a beautiful, loyal and loving 12-year-old, 60-pound, female, blue-eyed Siberian Husky looking for a loving guardian. Lakota bonds very tightly and adoringly with her human. She lived with a man her entire life, but when he was hospitalized and then sent to a nursing home, she was devastated. She ran in circles crying hysterically as they carted off her beloved person. It took her a little while to mourn his loss. She is now looking for a new human to love her and care for her... she will gladly return that love. She walks beautifully on leash, and when she was younger she visited dog parks ... but not in recent years. I don't think she is thought trustworthy with cats or small dogs. She is housebroken, well-mannered and non-destructive in the home. Lakota is healthy, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested and on monthly preventative. She is currently staying with me in Chicago's Andersonville neighborhood. To meet and possibly adopt Lakota please contact me directly at email@example.com or 773-777-2891. Her adoption fee of $75 benefits rescued pets and includes her food, bowls, collar, leash and other belongings. (Less)

Loving, high energy dog. Needs a job and a good fence. Would make a great sled dog. Has never really been around a lot of children, but I believe he would be fine, but perhaps try to dominate. Housebroken, good manners on leash and in the house. Not good off-leash. He's causing problems with my neighbor's cows.

|Rescue Me ID: 13-04-21-00124Princess (female)|
Princess us a beautiful girl. She is very loving and would be a great dog if she is an only child. She was raised inside for one year. We moved to the country where she could run. She has discovered hunting. Since then she has turned on our Rest Terrier and cat. She has a Mini Aussie brother and does well with him. She loves attention and to play. She lives to sleep in bed with you. I love her and would miss her. She is very protective. She barks at new girls and women until she meets them. Please consider my Princess. She was due for immunizations in March.

King is a beautiful husky mix (we're guessing possibly a German Shepard) that was saved from Death Row just in time. He is 53 lbs. and is a crate trained cuddler!! King is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and his adoption includes his collar, leash and a disaster kit (first aid, info pack, emergency decal). |Rescue Me ID: 13-02-18-00294Bently (male)|
Bently is an energetic, beautiful 2 1/2 year-old Siberian Husky. He is up to date on all shots, neutered and very healthy. He is all white with ice blue eyes. He's my sons dog who is now in the Marines and unable to take him. My daughter is going off to college, I'm moving out of state to take care of my elderly mother who has 2 small dogs of her own and unable to take him with me. Also, due to my illness, I am unable to give him the amount of time to satisfy his needs. He has basic obedience but is very smart; he is fully house trained, leash walks and jogs, has been indoors but uses a doggy door to go out to the porch where he prefers to be (especially in the cold weather). He loves to run and go on long walks or jogs. Bently needs a home where he can get all the exercise and attention that he needs. He would thrive in a home where he would get all the attention, and a home that does not have children under the age of 10; he sometimes plays rough and forgets how strong he is. Bentley can shown aggression (biting) when you try to get him to do something and he doesn't. He doesn't attack or is vicious, he just snaps, so he needs a very strong owner who understands dogs and is willing to work with them. He does love to cuddle and be held. He loves to play with other dogs but could be a little rough with smaller ones, he has been around my mother's 2 small dogs and there's never been a problem. A potential adopter of Bently will need to provide very strong leadership and having knowledge of Siberian Huskies will be benificial. Please only reply if you meet the requirements for Bently. |Rescue Me ID: 13-02-14-00178Jake (male)|
Jake is the perfect companion dog. He is older but still like walks, rides in the car and being brushed. He is very well behaved. He knows all his commands including shake and has never once had a accident in our home. He listens well. He can be walked without a leash and when called will come right back. He will not counter surf or dumpster dive. He currently lives with 2 other dogs, one female and one male, and gets along with both. He was given up by his previous owners because he growled at their new baby. We have 2 boys 10 and 12 and he enjoys there company. He would not do well with small children that could crawl on him or pull his fur. He does not try to get on the furniture and likes to sleep on the floor next to the bed every night. He is a little bossy when it comes to the other dogs because he was an only child at his last home so he feels he should be pet before the others but shows no aggression when he is told no. Jake does not have any signs of arthritis or other signs of aging other that his gray face. He would be perfect for someone who wants a low maintenance dog or a senior citizen that wants a companion pet but is worried about outliving them. We have fostered Jake for 6 months and really enjoy having him around. His adoption includes his collar, leash and a disaster kit (first aid, info pack, emergency decal). (Less)

|PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Illinois|
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Illinois if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
