Ogi is friendly & affectionate towards everyone; but, is sometimes rambunctious and challenging to control. At 16 months he is 95 pounds. He may be okay with children, we just haven't had him around any since rescuing him 4 months ago from a native american hunting camp. He may be too overpowering for small children. I need to give him up because of a serious chronic back condition that makes it too difficult for me to handle him.

|Rescue Me ID: 15-07-19-00557Kenai (female)|
We don't know what the first two years of Kenai's life looked like, but this 3.5 year old beauty was brought to a shelter about 1.5 years ago and has been waiting for her forever home her whole life. She is the epitome of a husky, and that can be a lot for some people to handle. She was adopted out briefly and returned shortly after as she was too active and the family couldn't keep up with her physical needs. Kenai would ideally go to owners experienced with Huskies or similar breeds who can give her an outlet for her energy. She LOVES the dog park and would love to be a running buddy!

70 lbs. Bonded closely to foster family. don't let his birthday deter you. He is a strong and very active healthy boy. He needs a husky experienced adopter to assist. The area he is located in does not normally take Huskies. Been in foster care and vetted by our rescue. We are hoping for a forever match for this great boy. Loves life! |Rescue Me ID: 14-08-11-00583Ty (male)|
This handsome boy was in a very high kill animal shelter and was going to be put down due to space. His family who had him left him there to die because he wouldn't stay home. He can jump a 4 foot fence, he no longer does here. They said he was 2 years old, he is now 3 years old. He has been waiting a year now for his very own home. He is black with a gray muzzle, and built like a husky, moves and acts like a husky and can yodel, but has semi floppy ears, weighs about 55 pounds, he was very skinny when we first rescued him. He is sweet, bold, and fine with most dogs, even small dogs. He loves attention once he know you but until then is very indifferent and unsure. He has a more independent personality here where he only gets a bit of attention as he is let in and out to play in the yard from the kennel. He has little interest in cats. His favorite way to play is to race around the yard with another dog chasing him. Other then those occasional sprints he doesn't really play much. He's a very mellow boy. Crate trained, neutered, heart worm negative, microchipped, and current on vaccinations. Current or recent past vets name and number, and contract is required to adopt. We have many rescued dogs please check out our website. (Less)

|PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Illinois|
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Illinois if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
