Rescue Me ID: 17-02-21-00115Nakita (female)
Meet Nakita! She is a beautiful husky with a fun personality! She loves to play and explore. And she has the best smile! She tested okay with other dogs but would probably do best with a more laid back dog. She needs a no cat hosuehold. We do require potential adopters to have a fenced in yard to allow her to run and play and must have huskty experience

Rescue Me ID: 17-02-15-00245Titan (male)
Strong-hearted and strong-willed, that's our Titan! This stunner is just everything you want in a dog - friendly, people-oriented, good with other dogs, and just smart as a whip. Titan is a 3 1/2 year old purebred Siberian Husky with the coolest case of heterochromia we've ever seen - one of his eyes if half blue and half brown! Titan was surrendered to ACL when his previous owners found they didn't have the time for this active, adventurous guy. Like most Huskies, Titan loves to run - he needs an active owner committed to taking him for long jogs, walks, or trips to the dog park. He knows many commands and graduated 'valedictorian' in his obedience class! Titan is a very intelligent dog who will do best with a family that wants to give him lots of stuff to do - he won't be content being a couch dog. Titan doesn't have much experience with young children, so kids 8 and up will be best. He has a strong prey drive, so he can't live with other cats, small animals, or cats under 25 pounds. He would really enjoy a playful canine buddy who can keep up with him, though! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-01-07-00102Buddy (male)
Buddy is a people friendly, good tempered, pure-bred Husky. He is black and white with blue eyes. His owner has a new baby and cannot give a year old puppy the attention that is needed. Buddy gets along really well with the other dog in the family, but does not care for dogs he does not know. Buddy is house-trained, but needs more attention than he is now getting to stay on track.

Beautiful and loving young female husky (45 pounds), excellent temperament with humans. Does not do well with other animals, very little socialization with other animals. Sweet and laid back in the house, no problem going in her crate. Adopted her knowing that she is heartworm positive and is being treated, will pay for her current scheduled heartworm treatments. She has an excellent prognosis, was in the early stages. We work long hours and condo living is not the best option for a husky, hoping to find a loving home and a large fenced yard with adults that have the time for this wonderful dog.

Rescue Me ID: 16-11-17-00016Ginger (female)
Very smart, loyal dog. She's well-trained and very healthy. She can be aggressive toward other dogs, especially ones close to her size, as well as kids. Since she's 10 yrs old and has the aggressive streak, we have been having difficulty finding a home for her. The vet has recommended euthanasia since there are other dogs as well as two young kids in the home now. We are really trying to avoid that since she is so healthy.

Rescue Me ID: 16-05-01-00625Olaf (male)
*Not my dog but I can connect you with owners.* Currently in Paxton, IL but transport can likely be arranged. Olaf is 10-12 month(based on what I was told his age was when he came here) old deaf Aussie mix(suppose to be w husky/lab but I'm not sure about it because of his size). He is housebroken, crate trained, knows a few hand signals,ok off leash once he trained to his boundaries, good with other dogs(male or female) as long as they are tolerant of his play level/herding instinct, good with kids.. he is great w my 3 year old granddaughter who lives w me BUT she knows not to grab at dogs and she understands she can't startle him so would say home with older kids would be best unless toddler is well behaved. Honestly at times he acts like he may have been abused early in life as he will sometimes cower from you. He loves to play with balls. Olaf currently lives with another dog and enjoys sleeping with his canine pal. Emily (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-08-11-00583Ty (male)
This handsome boy was in a very high kill animal shelter and was going to be put down due to space. His family who had him left him there to die because he wouldn't stay home. He could jump a 4 foot fence, he no longer does here. They said he was 2 years old, he is now 4 years old, sadly he has been stuck for 2 years waiting for a home. He is black with a gray muzzle, and built like a husky, moves and acts like a husky and can yodel, but has semi floppy ears, weighs about 55 pounds. He was very skinny when we first rescued him. He is sweet, bold, and fine with most dogs, even small dogs. He loves attention once he know you but until then is very indifferent and unsure. He has a more independent personality. He has little interest in cats. His favorite way to play is to race around the yard with another dog chasing him. Other then those occasional sprints he doesn't really play much. He's a very mellow boy. Crate trained, neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccinations. Current or recent past vet clinics number, and contract is required to adopt. We have many rescued dogs please check out our website. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Illinois
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Illinois if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
