Rescue Me ID: 15-12-07-00776Precious (female)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Male Dogs Only, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Precious! She's a very sweet senior (estimated DOB 12/27/05) years old husky/collie mix. She's is good with submissive male dogs since she's an alpha female. She is too interested in cats, so we would advise not putting her in a home with cats. She would be good in a home with older kids. She was rescued from the shelter so we could help her find her forever home who will love her for the rest of her life. She's spayed, up to date on her vaccinations and has a microchip. Her adoption fee is $175. If you're interested in adopting her, please go to www.furangelsas.com and fill out our online application.

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Seizures

[Read About Natural Seizure Care] Hi, I'm Gina! Someone brought me to the shelter when I was found on the side of the road with some pretty bad wounds after being hit by a car. The shelter kept me in a very small crate for a long time with no exercise, and I was getting really sick and really sad. I started having seizures from my head injury, and the doctors put me on medicine to make them go away. So now I have a scar on my face and one ear that doesn't quite stand up all the way. But it's ok because I'm told it only makes me more cute! My foster mommy says that I am like a puppy in a 2 year old's body. She thinks I am a total goofball and ... (Read More)she laughs at me a lot. I am very loving and playful, with a medium level of energy. I really love to play with all kinds of toys - the more, the better! But I am gentle with them, I try not to kill my stuffed animals. I love other dogs, kids, and even kitties! Please adopt me, so I can fill your home with all the love that I have to give (Less)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This handsome boy was in a very high kill animal shelter and was going to be put down due to space. His family who had him left him there to die because he wouldn't stay home. He can jump a 4 foot fence, he no longer does here. They said he was 2 years old, he is now 3 years old. He has been waiting a year now for his very own home. He is black with a gray muzzle, and built like a husky, moves and acts like a husky and can yodel, but has semi floppy ears, weighs about 55 pounds, he was very skinny when we first rescued him. He is sweet, bold, and fine with most dogs, even small dogs. He loves attention once he know you but until then is very ... (Read More)indifferent and unsure. He has a more independent personality here where he only gets a bit of attention as he is let in and out to play in the yard from the kennel. He has little interest in cats. His favorite way to play is to race around the yard with another dog chasing him. Other then those occasional sprints he doesn't really play much. He's a very mellow boy. Crate trained, neutered, heart worm negative, microchipped, and current on vaccinations. Current or recent past vets name and number, and contract is required to adopt. We have many rescued dogs please check out our website. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Illinois
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Illinois if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.

lnteresting Siberian Husky Trivia Low-Cost Illinois Spay & Neuter Clinics
Huskies were bred from dogs indigenous to the Siberian Arctic. Huskies are named after tribes of Inuits called Huskies. Teams of Huskies were used during Gunnar Kaasen's 1925 run to deliver diphtheria vaccine to Nome. The last Siberian Huskies were exported from Siberia in 1930, after which the Soviet government closed the country's borders to outside trade.
