Rescue Me ID: 14-07-17-00707Baron (male)
We adopted Baron at 8 weeks. His mom was a husky and we are guessing that the father was some type of hound. Baron weights 94 pounds and can easily put his head on dining room table. He is a wonderful dog to people and our three month old daughter however our baby has developed allergies to him and we can't keep him in a crate all day everyday.

Rescue Me ID: 14-06-25-00251Shadow (male)
Shadow is a well mannered, loving dog. He is great with kids and other animals. He's been around kittens since they were born and became an adopted father to them. He enjoys walking and running at the dog park. He is house broken and knows all his basic commands. He is good with strangers as well. Due to unfortunate circumstances, I am no longer working and cannot provide for him like he deserves.

Rescue Me ID: 14-06-01-00299Pepper (female)
Pepper is a beautiful mixed breed, with a long coat tail :) She was found as a stray near Joplin MO. Like many dogs we have no idea why her owners did not come looking for her. Pepper appears to have been well loved, trained and socialized. Pepper will sit for a treat, will shake and lay down. She walks nice on leash and is a true LOVE. She is good with other dogs and loves, loves people. Another playful dog would make a great companion, since she can play rough. Children should be 12 or older. She is going to make someone a wonderful family companion. How she ended up in a kill shelter in rural Mo is a mystery. We can only look to her future and find her an amazing family to call her own. We suggest a home without small children since Pepper isn't sure what to make of them. Also, previous dog experience is required. Pepper is spayed, up to date on shots, has her rabies vaccination, dewormed, fecal test, HW negative, micro chipped, Frontline and on her monthly HW preventative. Her adoption fee of $295 also includes a free health check at one of our participating vets and 30 days of shelter care insurance. |Rescue Me ID: 14-05-23-00114Ace (male)|
Our dog Ace desperately needs a new home. He has become aggressive towards our other male dog and is no longer safe in our home. He is fine with our female dog. He does not do well with children. He has been through basic obedience, is fully vaccinated, and neutered. He was adopted from an irresponsible family member and his selfish choices have created these behavior problems. Help us find him a home so he doesn't suffer from those choices! He is playful, energetic, and sweet when he is comfortable. He should probably be in a home with no dogs and no children. We have a large crate that can go with him and all vet records. He is a year and a half old, will be 2 in August. 75 lbs. Definitely a Husky mix, perhaps with great dane? He is very tall and lanky. More pictures and info available on request. Please e-mail or call. If no one answers before June 2nd, he will be surrendered to TLC Animal Shelter in Homer Glen. Still available as of 6/5/2014 but relinquished to the Tender Loving Care Animal Shelter in Homer Glen. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-04-15-00016Nanook (female)
Female Siberian husky Nanook needs a new home/possible rehabilitation. She is quite agressive due to limited human/other pet contact her whole life. She absolutely does not get along with cats but can get along with other medium/large size dogs. Small dogs not recomended.

Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Illinois if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
