Lakota is a beautiful, loyal and loving 12-year-old, 60-pound, female, blue-eyed Siberian Husky looking for a loving guardian. Lakota bonds very tightly and adoringly with her human. She lived with a man her entire life, but when he was hospitalized and then sent to a nursing home, she was devastated. She ran in circles crying hysterically as they carted off her beloved person. Bently is an energetic, beautiful 2 1/2 year-old Siberian Husky. He is up to date on all shots, neutered and very healthy. He is all white with ice blue eyes. He's my sons dog who is now in the Marines and unable to take him. My daughter is going off to college, I'm moving out of state to take care of my elderly mother who has 2 small dogs of her own and unable to take him with me. (Read More)be (especially in the cold weather). He loves to run and go on long walks or jogs. Bently needs a home where he can get all the exercise and attention that he needs. He would thrive in a home where he would get all the attention, and a home that does not have children under the age of 10; he sometimes plays rough and forgets how strong he is. Bentley can shown aggression (biting) when you try to get him to do something and he doesn't. He doesn't attack or is vicious, he just snaps, so he needs a very strong owner who understands dogs and is willing to work with them. He does love to cuddle and be held. He loves to play with other dogs but could be a little rough with smaller ones, he has been around my mother's 2 small dogs and there's never been a problem. Jake is the perfect companion dog. He is older but still like walks, rides in the car and being brushed. He is very well behaved. He knows all his commands including shake and has never once had a accident in our home. He listens well. He can be walked without a leash and when called will come right back. He will not counter surf or dumpster dive. He currently lives with 2 other dogs, one female and one male, and gets along with both. He is a little bossy when it comes to the other dogs because he was an only child at his last home so he feels he should be pet before the others but shows no aggression when he is told no. He would be perfect for someone who wants a low maintenance dog or a senior citizen that wants a companion pet but is worried about outliving them. Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Illinois if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
