Rescue Me ID: 17-06-23-00442Tut (male)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

EXTREMELY URGENT will be KILLED at a high kill shelter unless VERY SOON unless a foster or adopter steps forward. And he would love to be able to live his life out. Volunteer reoorts 'This boy was really worried about the world around him. We had long conversations about the situation. He may have some negative association with leashes. He did some trying to back out of the leash when he wanted to go somewhere and I did not follow. Outside he did not know whether he wanted to run around or sit close to me because he was worried. At the benches, he immediately jumped up on the top. Nothing negative about it, just probably a better place to ... (Read More)see what was happening. We went to the med. runs. He certainly did a good deal of investigating to see if he could find a way to get out of the run. Which is why I did not go to the playlot with him. He is a 'softer' type of dog, will run after balls, may bring back, but is more likely to drop it near you. ' he allowed the volunteer to look at his teeth which look very good. Please consider saving this sweet boy's life today! The shelter is full and dogs are being killed. He could be next. Fostering is free of charge and everything is provided within a 90 mile radius of Chicago. Volunteers are willing to help with transport (Less)

Siberian Husky    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Very High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

I have a Siberian Husky, Neiko, 3, male, that came to us via an odd path. We already have 4 dogs and the addition of the husky has been challenging, there is too much stress among all the dogs. We don't have the proper space to allow him to release his energy. After several months of working with Neiko we can no longer keep him, I thought we could help him and give him a great home, we do not have the skill level needed to raise a happy husky. Please contact me as soon as possible, we need to make some decisions quickly to find Neiko a new home. Best, Ben (630) 884-8223

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Zorro is a fun and friendly nine-month-old, 52-pound, male Shar Pei/Husky-mix puppy looking for a loving guardian. Zorro is well-behaved in the home, housebroken, crate-trained and wonderful with people of all ages. He likes to hang out on the couch during the day, but sleeps quietly in his crate all night. He loves to hang out on a cushy dog bed or couch and self-entertain with a deer antler. And, he loves to play fetch! You can take anything out of his mouth and he lets you. No food aggression at all. Balls, bones, toys '| he even let me take things out of his mouth during our photo shoot. Zorro has been working with a trainer and ... (Read More)he is learning all his commands: sit, down, stand and come. But he can be stubborn and is looking for someone who will use positive reinforcement training to teach him even more. He will do anything and everything for a treat. Zorro gets along with laid back male or female dogs. He doesn't like aggressive dogs. is when he is outside the home. He can be reactive to other dogs while on leash. So, he is looking for someone who have a house with a fenced in yard in a less congested neighborhood where Zorro won't be so stressed during his outdoor time. He is looking for someone to continue his training and give him much-needed daily exercise. Zorro is extremely healthy, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm-tested, and micro-chipped. His adoption fee of $300 benefits the rescued pets of Pei-Land Rescue in Plano, Illinois. To meet and possibly adopt Zorro, please contact Jen at peachesash@aol.com or 630-553-7829. (Less)

This handsome boy was in a very high kill animal shelter and was going to be put down due to space. His family who had him left him there to die because he wouldn't stay home. He could jump a 4 foot fence, he no longer does here. They said he was 2 years old, he is now 4 years old, sadly he has been stuck for 2 years waiting for a home. He is black with a gray muzzle, and built like a husky, moves and acts like a husky and can yodel, but has semi floppy ears, weighs about 55 pounds. He was very skinny when we first rescued him. He is sweet, bold, and fine with most dogs, even small dogs. He loves attention once he know you but until then ... (Read More)is very indifferent and unsure. He has a more independent personality. PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Illinois
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Illinois if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
