|Rescue Me ID: 18-06-16-00080Balto (male)|
This is Balto! He is an almost 3-year-old husky mix. He is a large boy, weighing in at between 75 and 80 pounds. He is regularly in the front yard with his Foster Mom off-leash and is not a runner. Balto needs a home with a confident, dog experienced owner as he can exhibit some husky stubbornness. He is a goofy guy that loves to please his human! He was fostered for a time by Serenity K-9 and knows basic obedience commands such as sit, place, and down. He is crate trained, house trained, good with cats, other dogs and respectful older children. He is a sweet, loving, silly boy who is ready to have the stability of a committed owner for his true potential to emerge. Please consider giving this wonderful, loving boy a home! If you are interested in giving Balto a forever home please visit the link below to fill out an application! http://fureverafterrescue.org/adoption-application.html It is best to submit an application through a computer. We have experienced some problems when applications have been submitted using a mobile device. *When you submit the application you are not obligated to adopt however it does reserve for you the opportunity to adopt that particular animal. |Rescue Me ID: 18-05-21-00292Devendorf (male)|
Devendorf, Devo for short, is a pure bread husky who has lived with us for 8 years along side his recently departed sister. Since her passing at age 13, and after our new arrival to the family, Devo doesn't have the environment he once had. All we want for Devo is a loving owner who is looking for a sweet, cuddly dog. Someone who can walk him and love him for his remaining years.

Coda has a joyful zest for life and loves adult companionship and lots of running room. Kennel confinement is very hard on Coda and at times he cannot bear it and will lift his head to voice the mournful call of the wild so characteristic of this breed. Coda is selective as to the dogs with whom he is compatible. He is not receptive to young children nor is he cat friendly. He can be left alone indoors without any destructive behaviors. He is housebroken. He is well mannered and walks beautifully on a leash. Coda is 6-1/2 yrs old and weighs 48 pounds. He will only be adopted to a home with secure fencing in place at the time of the adoption. Adoption fee $100. Application can be submitted online at https://www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/page/dog-adoption-application/ or at the shelter. Information about our adoption policies and application procedures can be found at the website: https://www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/ under All Adoptable Animals. Approved adopters must come to the shelter to accompany their new family member on the journey home. We neither ship nor transport. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter which provides quality care, spay/neuter-all vaccines, deworming, vet exam, standard disease testing and for dogs-monthly heart worm prevention treatment. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are primarily owner relinquished and also accepted from local Animal Control. |PIease Read Before Adopting a Siberian Husky in Georgia|
Siberian Husky Dogs can make good pets in Georgia if they match your IifestyIe. The Siberian Husky is a large Spitz-type dog with a history of being used as a sled dog. Despite its ancient genetics and wolf-like appearance, Huskies are extremely friendly, gentle family companions. Huskies do not make good guard dogs. They are wonderful with children. Huskies do not like to be left alone so it is a good idea to own two of them. Huskies are smart but stubborn; they need firm training but may still disregard commands. Huskies should be socialized with other pets when they are puppies. Huskies need acreage on which to roam and should be sheltered from hot temperatures.
